Confirmed by One Mile at a Time, Swiss First Class is currently bookable using miles in Air Canada’s Aeroplan, which is an instant transfer partner of American Express Membership Rewards.
It’s likely bookable through United as well, an instant transfer partner of Chase Ultimate Rewards.
- Space is showing up at Aeroplan’s website and United.com
- In theory it isn’t supposed to, since Swiss first redemptions are only intended for elite members of the Miles & More frequent flyer program. That was a change made January 2014.
- Much of the space is phantom, it will error out when you go to book
- But some is real, Lucky booked Los Angeles – Zurich
So keep playing until you find space, or work with an agent on the phone to find ticketable space and then once you’ve got the reservation set up go online the Membership Rewards and transfer points into your Aeroplan account (while still on the phone).
I’m in transit to the airport, have not booked one yet myself, but wanted to make sure folks were aware of the rare opportunity. See Lucky’s discussion for more.
it is NOT all phantom … i just had a ticketed reservation with United 016 etix header for this
ps : the website frequently will error out. i booked it via UA mobile app.
Thanks Gary, I just redeemed 110K united miles for a one-way to Zurich. Now I just need to find a way to get back home.
Thanks for the shout out!
