News notes from around the interweb:
- Airlines Lawyer Up Against Pending Class Action Suits Over Their Failure To Refund Tickets For Cancelled Flights
- The initial good deals from when IHG Rewards Club launched dynamic pricing are gone (Why is anyone surprised?)
- U.S. denies more flights to Chinese airlines currently U.S. and Chinese airlines are allowed four weekly flights, China requested more and the U.S. said they’d consider it once China allows more.
- Thai Airways staff up in arms over benefit cuts
- What happens to lost items at the airport?
- People playing table games at Nevada casinos will have to wear masks
- New meetings and events practices for the COVID era but anything that means gathering indoors in an air conditioned conference room is going nowhere fast.
It’ll be interesting to see if all the travel bloggers who were loudly ecstatic over the new IHG variable pricing will be as fulsome in their criticism now that the prices suck.
@Christian – that’s not how the world “fulsome” is used. Are you a 16 year old preparing for the SAT?
IHG has always pretty much sucked and will continue to suck on the rewards front so there is really nothing to write home about.
While dynamic pricing, in general, means more expensive awards. I have found the IHG awards using the credit card from Chase, more than make up the difference. I just made award stays in Japan, that gave a value of $.06 per point. Not earth shaking but better than cash.
@Jason – My erudition (book learning) isn’t in the same league as Gary but yes, that’s how you use it. I copied the definition below:
of large size or quantity; generous or abundant
Gary, any thoughts on steps to resolve this:
Booked April flights on Turkish with Aeroplan miles. Flight cancelled. April 8, Aeroplan rep processed the miles and fees refund, and I received confirmation that it was processing. Haven’t received the miles or fees. A month ago, I submitted a refund ticket as a follow up through Air Canada. No response yet.
