Back in the fall Priority Pass added access to the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at LAX.
That seemed fantastic, and it is — finally a Priority Pass-accessible lounge at LAX terminal 2. However it wasn’t exciting as it seemed at first blush.
- Hours are limited to when Virgin Atlantic’s own passengers aren’t there. Initially the LAX lounge was open 5 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. That’s been cut back to 10:45 a.m.
- Since they’re not servicing Virgin’s customers they don’t offer the extensive food service Virgin customers are used to.

They’ve apparently extended the model of generating revenue for otherwise-unused lounge space, getting Virgin Atlantic lounges to open earlier in exchange for that sweet, sweet bank cash funneled through Collinson Group.
Priority Pass cardmembers now have access to Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses at Washington Dulles and Newark.
- Washington Dulles Across from Gate A32 and available between 6:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. (Virgin’s flight departs just after 6 p.m. part of the year)
- Newark After security in terminal B and available between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. (Virgin’s flight departs just after 9 p.m. part of the year)
The current Priority Pass lounge at Newark Terminal B is Art & Lounge which is before security. So this is a nice improvement for the mid-afternoon hours. At Washington Dulles this helps supplement the Air France KLM lounge that’s about 12 gates away.
Access to these lounges is not yet reflected on the Priority Pass website.

Hopefully a better spread than mediocre BA lounge at IAD though really it’s hard to top LH lounge for those who have *A access.
Darn it! My layover at EWR on June 26 is from 6:04–8:16 PM!
The Virgin club lounge at LAX terminal 2 for priority pass members is terrible. I would not use it again, they don’t deserve the revenue from PP.
We can get better coffee at any concession at terminal 2.
What about PP members still in the lounge at changeover time? Do they just kick them out?
