We Don’t Actually Know When Sapphire Preferred 100K Offer Ends This Week?

Saturday is when I first learned that the 100,000 point initial bonus offer for Chase Sapphire Preferred was about to end when it was tweeted to me that Chase was advertising an end date on Google.

It’s not been 100% clear when this offer will go away. Dan’s Deals was first to get a comment from Chase saying it would end October 6. The Points Guy also says October 6 is the end date:

However if you go back to Chase’s Google ad, which has been counting down each day, it now says the end date is October 7:

Award Wallet emailed its users hedging with ‘in a few days’. My own guess – and just a guess – is that the offer might take time to be pulled from different channels. It is possible that some links might end on the 6th, and some (like via Google ads) could end on the 7th, and there might be some stragglers about after that. It’s a complex process for the card issuer to remove the offer across all of the places where it’s been available.

So the truth is all signs point to the offer ending, but I don’t think we know for certain the exact moment when it’ll end.

  1. My daughter got a mailer yesterday and I was curious since the end is supposedly near. It was offering the 100K bonus and had a mid-November deadline. Perhaps the deadline is extended for than channel because the mailer recipients are targeted by Chase.

  2. I’ll assume someone modified the countdown variable in Google Ads. if it’s a responsive ad, easy to do if you don’t know what you’re doing

  3. @Gene, I’ve heard that it’s possible to get approved in your situation. Sign up now and get declined. You have 30 days for reconsideration and your application under the original offer will still apply. If you’re sure you’ll be out of 5/24 within 30 days, you can call after that date and ask for approval.

  4. @ Darin — it might be worth a shot, but I want a biz card first and then a personal. I could just get multiple Chase and AMEX business cards over the next several months until a 100k Chase personal offer returns. I expect we’ll see a CSR offer at 100k soon.
