News and notes from around the interweb:
- Flight attendants have one of the highest divorce rates, over 50%.
- Register for IHG’s new promotion: 2000 points every 2 nights from October 12 – December 31, 2023. Pretty weak offer, but better than not earning the points if you wind up in one of their hotels.
- When you’re flying Emirates first class, turbulence won’t stop you from taking advantage of all the experiences.

Apparently Alto can still do curbside pickup.
- Qantas changes to allow transfer of points upon death
- Cathay Pacific to no longer outsource staffing of its Hong Kong lounges
Love Field is not the only one with this problem. Nashville (BNA) is in the midst of a vast improvement and expansion project that has resulted in the pick up area being moved to a more distant area. Not only is the walk longer but it is outside, under a canopy but otherwise exposed to the elements and the pavement is uneven. The inside of the terminal is beautiful but I am hoping that eventually this problem will be improved. It would be helpful if the airport authority would let incoming passengers know what the future will look like in this area.
LAX is no picnic either with the shuttle to the ride share lot.
No surprise re FA divorce rate. Look at You Tube…multiple FA vloggers on there, and every one of them comes across as a Diva. They all act like their God’s gift to the world, and they can’t stop taking about themselves. It’s pathetically hilarious. Not one of them has a clue about anything except themselves.
Quants and points. Until death we DO PART. Everything must come to an end. So if you have 500,000 in points do not call the airline to tell them you died. Let you spouse and children log into your account and book those flights until the points are used up. Be it flights or hotels. Use them or they will be lost.
Another thing DO NOT PUT IN THE NEWSPAPER YOU DIED. That is nothing more then making a notice to come %$#$# your family over every way possible.
If you are getting a divorce and have control of the others points be nice and donate them to charity. It will give you that warm feeling to gift your cheating spouses points to the Red Cross
LAWA/LAX rideshare pickup location is the worst…..you gotta ride a bus to get a cab or an Uber…..who thinks up this stuff?
