Here’s what’s going on:

• Frequent Miler gives a lot of good reasons to make Kiva loans (and by the way you can use them to meet minimum spend requirements on a mileage-earning credit card, withdrawing the funds when the loans are paid back), and also explains how to make a $25 loan to an entrepreneur in the developing world that won’t cost you a thing.

• Mommy Points asks you to do this as well, and to smile.

• Deals We Like is on board, too. This one is becoming an avalanche, you’re gonna need to join all the cool kids, c’mon and make this happen…

• The Points Guy flags a bonus for signing up for Delta’s business program, SkyBonus – register and take a qualifying flight by August 7 for 25,000 SkyBonus points.

  I wrote about a similar bonus a year and a half ago.

  25,000 points sound like a lot, they get you about 20 free drink chits. But small business programs are a great way to double dip, you earn the points in addition to miles.

  My favorite small business program is AAdvantage’s BusinessExtrAA, I earn elite status to give away to others, or lounge memberships, free tickets require more points than I reach on my own before points expire.
  

• My mileage award search service gets a mention at Tim Ferris’ Four Hour Work Week blog.

• GhettoIFE notes that you can still buy bmi miles with a 20% bonus through June 30, and those points will become transferrable to Avios on July 3.

  Buying bmi miles used to be an outstanding deal,, when you could use those miles leveraged by the Diamond Club cash and points award chart, redeeming for premium cabin Star Alliance awards. I wouldn’t consider the opportunity to transfer to British Airways to make this deal worthwhile.

  Of course, British Airways has decent award availability to London (flights beyond the UK cost additional miles) if you’re willing to swallow the fuel surcharges.

  But I’d rather use the bmi miles to fly partners Virgin or Qatar, the former partnership at least is sure to end as soon as the current contract can be unwound.

• It seems like everyone is talking about 1500 free Priority Club points for taking surveys.

  The surveys aren’t new, but they’re still working. You take the same surveys several times with various language sites.

  It’s not what Priority Club had in mind, and in the past folks who have hit this option hard (there were more than 3 language options live, and at one point you could take the same surveys multiple times for points) have had their accounts shut down. This probably works, but I’m staying away.
