15 Nights Is All It Takes To Earn Hilton Diamond Through March 2023

Hilton has a status challenge offer to earn Diamond elite with 9 nights in 90 days, half the usual amount. And that’s a generous path towards their top elite tier. But you can do much better right now because of how three of their policies work together.

With 15 nights at Hilton by the end of 2020 you can earn Diamond status through March 2023.

So if you spend 15 nights with Hilton before the end of the year, you’ll earn 30 elite nights. Those elite nights will ‘roll over’ to 2021, and are enough to earn Diamond status in 2021 which lasts all of 2021 (the rest of the year in which you earned status) and all of 2022 (the year you’ve qualified for) through March 2023 (when 2022 status expires).

Hilton’s Conrad Bora Bora Nuito register for double points and double elite nights before your Hilton stays.

  1. When you get down to it Diamond status with Hilton is a junk status (garbage)
There is no late checkout guarantee and getting 2 PM is like pulling teeth
Upgrades perhaps the occasional suite if you win the lottery.Their best hotels strictly enforce one category upgrades with some rare exceptions
Breakfast perhaps if the hotel even has an operating kitchen during covid
and even then it gets you practically nothing at one of their hotels unless @ one of their International properties.Basically a crap lounge with lousy amenities or a 9 dollar coupon for a glass of juice
Even worse some of the hotels bar Diamond members claiming its an excursive pay for lounge
For free the status is better than nothing

  2. I’ve been long time Diamond member (around 20 years) but don’t travel as much as before. I’m lifetime Titanium w Marriott but, even though I have enough years Diamond for lifetime at Hilton, I am a long way from getting enough points.

Therefore, I got the Hilton Amex Surpass card and put over $40,000 on it this year (I know there are others that could get more value (also have CSR, Amex Platinum, Amex Gold and others so I know the game) but I mainly run things that don’t have bonus categories (health insurance, my daughter’s college apartment rent, etc.) through to get the $40,000 spend. That gets 3x Hilton points (or 1.8% at .006 cent value) which is only slightly less than 2% (based on 1 membership rewards or Chase ultimate point) so I consider it a push given the free night at 15K and Diamond at 40K. Bottom line is I get Diamond this way. Lounge access is best option (don’t really count on upgrade but have gotten some really nice ones apparently unlike the other poster). Also, I don’t value breakfast much since I prefer to watch my weight and, at most, would have coffee (which is usually available) and fruit. I know lounges are mainly closed now but when they open that more than covers my breakfast needs.

I don’t put great value on Diamond but nice to have and I have gotten some decent perks and recognition over the years. Guess there will be multiples of Diamond members now that practically every blog (I subscribe to a number of them) has published how to get it more easily.

  3. We travel quite a bit, now with an Airstream since Covid.hit. The few times we have stayed in Hiltons duing the pandemic, we are very disappointed with what we get being Diamond members. Even though the hotels are pretty empty we still have not gotten upgrades. We barely get a snack and most hotels are not serving breakfast. I am a Diamond member my husband is Gold member. We get the same insignificant benefits. Hilton Honors is not what it used to be!!! I hope they come up with some better benefits that will make me want to continue using Hilton hotels. Flooding the system with more Diamond members is not the answer.

  4. I’m thrilled I’ve spent over 45 actual real nights in Hilton properties this year and get nothing extra for it. Hilton Diamond Status is like Hertz Presidents Circle, everyone has it.

  5. I have been Diamond member for last few years and have not seen much advantage of this elite status as other Diamond Elites pointed out. Hilton brands have been my hotel of choice when I travel and have rarely stayed at any other brand hotel. However, rarely got any upgrade, which hotel is supposed to offer at check-in but they don’t even you ask for it. You really have to be very lucky to get it. So if Hilton makes getting the Diamond status that easy, I am not sure what they will achieve. On the long run it might fire back when people get disappointed and start looking for other hotel bands for better perks.
Hilton should improve the current Diamond benefits before offering the status to more members.
