I’m in the midst of writing about my trip to the Maldives and Malaysia.
Just yesterday I shared details of my Etihad first class suite, complete with complimentary chauffeur and onboard chef.
I even explained just how good availability on Etihad can be.
Etihad first class is one of the most readily available first class awards there is. …
You can search Etihad space on the Etihad website. With only one exception, an Abu Dhabi – London flight over a year ago, I’ve had a perfect match between the low level saver award space Etihad offers its own members and what American AAdvnatage can see.
And yet right now you may not be able to book it. I wanted to flag this in case, reading the report, you were tempted to pick up the phone and set up a similar award for yourself.
Right now American is having technical issues ‘seeing’ the correct availability on Etihad.
As I read at TravelingBetter.com,
I imagine this issue will be fixed soon, and we’ll just need to be patient.

I can confirm this. It happened to me 3 days ago while trying to book LHR-AUH. Agent couldn’t see EY flights. After calling the EY liaison, she told me about the issues. I had to book QR instead…. hoping they fix this soon.
Is the issue that 9W space shows up instead of EY? or that 9W space shows up in addition to EY but isn’t bookable? I was hoping the Jet Airways flights operated by Etihad would be bookable as AA Award. Thanks for the clarification.
9W operated by EY shows up. The AA agent was able to “see” the 9W from CDG to AUH. Only EY coded flight can’t be booked at this time. Hope this helps…
