Hyatt Launches New Promotion, You Should Register Right Now, Even Free Nights Earn!

Last year Hyatt ran double points April through June and double points for the last month and a half of the year. Those were the only bonus promotions for hotel stays Hyatt ran. Period. And there’s been nothing yet this year.

Until now: they’ve just announced 1000 points per night at full service properties and 500 points per night at Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotels from today through May 15 up to 25,000 points total.

Free night awards now count towards promotional points-earning, too! That’s like a 1000 point per night discount on awards.

For the purpose of this offer, a qualifying night is defined as any night where a member is paying an Eligible Rate or redeems a free night award for at least one night of their stay.

Park Hyatt New York

Registration is required by March 31 and you should register even if you don’t expect to stay at a Hyatt — because you might wind up in one unexpectedly and you’ll never remember to register later. And unlike some other chain offers, this bonus kicks in with your first stay.

For full service hotel stays with room rates under $200 this is better than double points. It’s less valuable for Hyatt House and Hyatt Place and for pricier accommodations.

And notably the minimum 25 nights required to earn 25,000 bonus points would have earned you 75,000 bonus points just two years ago. This is less.

Terms and conditions:

You must be a member of World of Hyatt and register for the promotion between February 15, 2018 and March 31, 2018 to participate. To join World of Hyatt, visit worldofhyatt.com.

All eligible nights under this promotion must have a checkout date from February 15, 2018 through May 15, 2018 (“Promotion Period”).

You will receive 1,000 Bonus Points for each eligible night at Park Hyatt, Miraval, Andaz, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Centric, Hyatt Regency, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, Hyatt Zilara, Hyatt Ziva, Hyatt Residence Club and participating MGM properties and 500 Bonus Points for each eligible night at Hyatt Place and Hyatt House properties during the Promotion Period.

A maximum of 25,000 Bonus Points may be earned per member under this promotion, regardless of the number of nights completed during the Promotion Period. All points awarded under this promotion are Bonus Points.

For the purpose of this promotion, an “Eligible Night” is defined as any night where a member is paying an Eligible Rate or redeems a free night award for at least one night of their stay. Nights at Oasis Collection properties are not Eligible Nights.

Only the room occupied by the Member will count toward this promotion. You must provide your World of Hyatt membership number at the time of check-in and choose World of Hyatt points for each stay. World of Hyatt will automatically track Eligible Nights when you provide your World of Hyatt membership number at check-in. Please allow two to three weeks after your qualifying stay for Bonus Points to be posted to your World of Hyatt account.

Hyatt reserves the right to alter or withdraw this promotion with a suitable substitute promotion of equal value (if legally required) at any time due to actual circumstances.

  1. Excellent! I suppose better than nothing at all
More points for a program that now allows select hotels routinely to game the system to make sure members can’t use their points for standard rooms year round
Forces the worst accommodation in house for a suite upgrade
if you can even get one at all
Thanks Andaz Maui your up their as the most dishonest hotel in Hyatt history
    World Of Ponzi (scheme)
If I didn’t know any better I would think IHG is now running Hyatt or Radisson
All for our loyalty by staying 60 to 100 nights a year
Of course those points are extremely good at your favorite Hyatt Place property with a lavish breakfast made without a kitchen
Hello Marriott & Starwood Hilton etc
Less promise but reasonable enough delivery

  2. Do note that you must check out by May 15, or you will not get the bonus points. So if you check in on May 14 for 2 nights, checking out on the 16th, you will get nada. But if you check in on the 14th and out on the 15th, and then back in on the 15th and out on the 16th…. you get the bonus for one night. Seems ridiculous to me.
    Here is from FAQ…
A member’s stay must check out during the promotion period (February 15, 2018 through May 15, 2018) to earn the Bonus Points on the stay’s eligible nights. If a member checks into a reservation during the promotion period, but does not check out until after the promotion period has ended, the member will not earn Bonus Points on any eligible nights stayed as part of that reservation.

  3. How about if I’ve already booked some rooms but haven’t registered yet? Need to cancel, register and rebook?

  4. @ Gary — Just to clarify, are ALL types of award nights eligible (points, cash + points, free nights for 5 brands, Chase annual free night, free night for being a Globalist when WoH launched 3/1/2018, etc.)?
