Via TM Travel World, Marriott is offering 5000 bonus Delta miles per stay beginning with your second stay between May 1 and September 6, 2010.
The bonus can be earned up to 12 times for a maximum bonus of 60,000 miles.
Registration is required (and begins May 1…) and you must set your earning preference to miles.
Does the promotion page load for you? I commented yesterday when I saw TMTravelWorld’s post that the link shows a page stating “Promotion is Unavailable”.
Troy responds it is working fine on his computer.
Lucky posts the link on his blog. Rick Ingersoll of FrugalTravelGuy says he can’t see the page.
And your link shows me the same “Promotion is Unavailable” page.
Why are some people seeing the promotion and others are getting a promotion unavailable page?
I hope a similar deal will apply with other airlines. Now that NW and DL merged, I have way too many Skypesos and not enough other mileage currency and am not even motivated by such lucrative offers as this.
Do you know what happens to existing points if you switch earning over to miles? Do they stay as-is, or do they get transferred into the mileage program you select [and at what ratio]?
@AS
They will stay as-is
@Troy – thanks!
But they’re worst-in-class SkyMiles, who cares? If they were EQM then maybe… just maybe… this deal would be worth pursuing.
Re: page loading. I’m still getting a “promotion unavailable” page through the link when I use Explorer. Just opened Firefox, though, and the page loads fine.
I also was receiving “promotion unavailable”. But…my buddy discovered that if you change your Marriott Rewards earning preference to Miles the promo loads fine. I’m signed up. Thanks for the tip!
Marriott Concierge posted on FlyerTalk that you have change you earning preference to miles first. Then you will be able to register for the promo. I signed up tonight and that worked.
