In an effort to prevent African Swine Fever (ASF), Australia’s Department of Agriculture is seeking airlines’ support to cease serving items containing pork on flights to Australia.
In order to comply with this new regulation, effective October 23 American will make entrée adjustments in LAX-SYD to replace all pork items. This will affect our Business Class 2nd service Mezze Plate and American Breakfast.
Printed menus with the modified items will be provided when the cycle changes on November 13.
Please advise customers of this change and apologize on our behalf

In the event our caterer in SCL is unable to provide normal catering, we have double provisioned flights departing the U.S. from both MIA and DFW. We kindly ask your support not to use or move any of the double provisioned inventory during your flight to SCL. If the caterer is unable to produce normal catering, these items will be used for the return flight. The caterer will still approach the aircraft, remove trash, provide wet ice and dry ice, and top off beverage carts.

I’m not sure that your characterisation of the Seattle Times piece on the Lion Air crash report is correct. Both the report itself and the reporting of it are critical of Lion Air ,as well as Boeing.
No longer a secret!
@ Gary — Hotel occupancy down=recession. Finally!
What a minute, did you actually read the National Transportation Safety Committee of Indonesia or get the synopsis from other media organizations. Because I have read online and heard on NPR a totally different report.
Here’s NPR: https://www.npr.org/2019/10/25/773291951/pilots-ground-crew-share-blame-for-lion-air-737-max-crash-indonesian-report-says…………….
A key finding in the report by Indonesia’s National Transportation Safety Committee is that while a design flaw in an automated flight-control system, known as MCAS, was the primary cause of the crash, a faulty sensor, inadequate maintenance, poor pilot training and a failure to heed previous problems with the same aircraft were all contributing factors.
Your comment is not true at all!
@Gene
While travel industry numbers are certainly leading indicators of broader economic trends, one year of reduced year over year hotel numbers does not “equal” a recession.
Why are you excited for a recession?
Somebody should inform the US government that Madura is dead.
