Last night The Flight Deal noticed $296 roundtrip fares between Los Angeles and Honolulu, remarking that this is the cheapest West Coast – Hawaii tickets in almost three years.
JT Genter points out this morning that there’s now a fare war across myriad US cities to Hawaii.
At this point Virgin America and Alaska, which started this with the $296 tickets, have been joined in by American, Delta and Hawaiian.
And cities with great fares for travel in the first half of 2018 to Honolulu, Maui, Kona, and Lihue appear to be:
- Los Angeles
- San Jose
- Oakland
- San Diego
- Dallas Love Field
- Salt Lake City
- Phoenix
- Denver
- Atlanta
- Austin
- New York JFK
The absolute cheapest tickets appear to require purchase today (though they likely won’t last all day, act quickly) and allow travel Monday through Thursday and Sunday to Hawaii and Monday through Thursday back from Hawaii.
Some routes will be pricier, for instance Salt Lake City – Honolulu comes up at $443 on American and Atlanta – Honolulu comes up at $551 (they’re going after Delta’s hubs in both cases), Austin – Maui comes up at $496 on Delta.
Meh, waiting for southwest hawaii fares to come online in 2018. Companion pass baby!
gary the shill. Glad to know he is desperate as ever.
Dan the troll. Out from under his bridge to share his joy.
I don’t even know what this post shills for, hawaii?
