Bilt Rewards has been promising new elite benefits and they’ve just announced two new elements of their Platinum status: dedicated support, and Air France KLM Flying Blue Gold status. Both of these benefits launch February 29.
Flying Blue Gold includes:
- SkyTeam Elite Plus benefits, including lounge access when flying coach internationally
- Airport priority like check-in and boarding
- No points expiration
- 50% discount purchasing Delta Comfort+ seats
- Premium customer support
KLM Business Class
It’s not a Platinum status match but it’s still quite compelling. Flying Blue elites may also be eligible for status matches to other airlines.
Bilt Platinum members can claim Gold status for 12 months in the Elite Status tab of the Bilt app with a transfer of 10,000 points into Flying Blue. This can be claimed any time in the current year, so time your requests wisely (status match may take up to 3 day). It appears that this benefit is anticipated to continue, as they explain:
All Bilt Platinum Members are currently eligible to enroll in this status match in 2024. To request status again, members will need to requalify for Bilt Platinum Status in 2025. Ex) If a member qualifies for Bilt Platinum in April 2024 and opts in for 12 months of status, they cannot get a second status match in May 2025 unless they have requalified for Bilt Platinum again in 2025.
For someone who flies Delta at most occasionally having airport priority and a discount on extra legroom seats is attractive, and a better phone customer service option for managing Flying Blue awards is as well. Along a certain margin it makes Air France KLM even more focal.
Any word on if and when Bilt will offer points on mortgage payments? That would definitely make it worth a shift to them.
