TODAY ONLY: Book Europe For Just 6,000 Miles, Redeem Business Class For 62% Fewer Points
Bilt Rewards May 1st ‘Rent Day’ promotions includes a 100% bonus on points transfers to Air France KLM Flying Blue. Before Bilt ran a 100% bonus to Hawaiian Airlines there had never been a double points transfer bonus to an airline where points already transferred one-to-one. And now they’ve done it again.
And they’ve coordinated with Flying Blue to make May’s discounted ‘promo awards’ especially lucrative from North America. I haven’t seen such a great set of award discounts from Flying Blue in years.
Huge: Bilt Dining Now Offers 5x At Curated Restaurants (Earn 8X Or More Total)
Bilt Rewards has introduced Bilt Dining where you’ll automatically earn 5 points per dollar spent at participating restaurants when you pay using any credit card that you’ve added to your Bilt Wallet in the Bilt Rewards mobile app.
You may be familiar with the dining programs of airlines and hotel programs, run through third party Rewards Network. This is a different program, being built from the ground up with restaurants that in many cases are quite good – that you’ll actually want to eat at – rather than just being financially-strapped restaurants that need Rewards Network funding.
Two New Choice Privileges Credit Cards Have Just Dropped, With Offers Up To 90,000 Points
In February I detailed the upcoming launch of a Wells Fargo Choice Privileges card. That card is now available, there is also a premium card too, and both have limited-time offers.
5 Free Marriott Nights Worth Up To 250,000 Points With New Chase Credit Card
It’s the return of 5 Marriott nights worth up to 250,000 points in total after $5,000 spend within the first three months of account opening for the Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card.
That’s the best offer we’ve seen for this card, and it’s been around a couple of times. It’s much better than normal ‘elevated’ offers of 100,000 points or 3 reward nights.
Walmart Sues To End Capital One Credit Card Relationship
A lawsuit to terminate the deal doesn’t mean that it will be terminated. The two parties can settle the suit, presumably with Capital One paying more to continue the relationship. On the other hand, a lawsuit to terminate hangs over the partnership in the meantime making it more difficult to maximize the value of the deal. Investments in the partnership remain in limbo in the meantime, which is bad for both sides.
Woman Gets Drunk At Strip Club, Disputes $10,000+ In Charges With Chase
A woman says that she ran up more than $10,000 in charges at a strip club, but doesn’t think she should be responsible for the transactions on her Chase Freedom and Chase Sapphire cards. She says she “had one too many drinks and/or I was drugged” and has filed disputes with Chase.
She was given temporary credits on her Sapphire card. However she’s been denied credit for her disputes on the since-closed Freedom card.
The Single Biggest Problem For Any Credit Card Issuer, And How To Solve It
Banks are spending billions of dollars to gain access to customers, and to convince those customers to run their spend through the bank’s products. However this strategy is difficult.
It can be a more fruitful strategy to fish for customers in new ponds. And we’ve seen a lot of that. Chase used to see small portfolios and feel they wouldn’t move the needle enough. Now they’re doing DoorDash, Instacart, and Air Canada Aeroplan’s U.S. co-brand.
People Have Stopped Spending Money On Credit Cards
We’re no longer facing 8% – 10% inflation, but probably still 4% – 5%. And it’s may be harder for the Fed to go the last mile.
However it may be that the banking crisis does the work for them – banks are likely to tighten up lending, which is contractionary. The odds of recession have grown, there’s no longer much talk of a soft landing (let alone no landing). Consumers have already pulled back in the week since Silicon Valley Bank failed.
What Will A Banking Crisis Do To Miles And Points?
The big co-brands have all become such expensive deals that only the biggest banks could swallow them. So your airline credit card isn’t going to disappear. And the big banks are also the only ones that have been able to afford to stand up their own rich transferable points programs which can outcompete airline cards.
