Up To $25 In Lyft Credits From Bilt Rewards (Free To Join)

I receive compensation for content and many links on this blog. Citibank is an advertising partner of this site, as is American Express, Chase, Barclays and Capital One. Any opinions expressed in this post are my own, and have not been reviewed, approved, or endorsed by my advertising partners. I do not write about all credit cards that are available -- instead focusing on miles, points, and cash back (and currencies that can be converted into the same). Bilt Rewards, the program that rewards you for paying rent, has the most lucrative partnership with Lyft. You earn their transferable points for rides you would take anyway, in addition to points earned on your credit card for the spending.

For Rent Day – Bilt has lucrative special offers on the first of every month – Bilt and Lyft are offering free ride credit.

  • All Bilt members are eligible for a $10 ride credit
  • Members with the Bilt Mastercard receive a $20 ride credit
  • If you ride Lyft on July 1 (Rent Day) you get an additional $5 credit.

Link your Bilt and Lyft accounts in the app, if you haven’t already, and you should because you earn Bilt points for your rides and this is better in my view than earning Delta, Hilton or Alaska points.

The Rent Day tab in the Bilt app launches at midnight Eastern tonight Update: Wednesday July 28th at 7 a.m. Eastern time. That’s where you activate this offer by selecting “Activate Credits” in the Lyft tile. You’ll see the ride credit under “Lyft Pass” in the payment section of the app. Credits can take up to 72 hours to post and are valid for 90 days.

The Bilt Mastercard is the no annual fee card that lets you earn points paying rent at no cost (up to $100,000 per year) and (outside of Rent Day on the first of the month!) earns double points on travel and triple points on dining – of course you must make at least 5 purchases per month to earn points. Lyft earns 5x.

Each Bilt point can be spent at 1.25 cents apiece towards travel through their portal or transferred 1:1 into:

  • Star Alliance: Air Canada Aeroplan, Turkish Miles & Smiles, United Airlines MileagePlus
  • oneworld: American AAdvantage, Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, British Airways Executive Club, Iberia Plus
  • SkyTeam: Air France KLM Flying Blue
  • Non-alliance: Emirates Skywards, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, Hawaiian Airlines HawaiianMiles, Aer Lingus Aer Club
  • Hotels: Hyatt, IHG One Rewards

An on Rent Day, the first of each month, the Bilt Mastercard earns 6x on dining; 4x on travel; and 2x on other spend besides rent – up to 10,000 bonus points. As always, cardmembers have to use their card 5 times each statement period to earn points.

Another cool opportunity this month – adding new value, without taking anything away – from Lyft. This is why I love the program right now, there’s more action each month from them that’s really useful than from anyone else in the marketplace.

  1. Everyone remember to switch back to using your Chase Sapphire Reserve card after you grab this free $25 since Bilt DOES NOT have “the most rewarding” partnership with Lyft. That award goes to the CSR, which earns 10x on Lyft.
