- Um.
Another shoutout to @united , I just landed in Chicago on UA882 from Haneda and the crew was absolutely fantastic, really made the flight enjoyable for this cat in Polaris. pic.twitter.com/89ltXlwwAv

- Your periodic reminder that American Airlines had developed a maintenance program for seat power back in 2017, but scrapped the idea due to cost.
@AmericanAir very ragged and not usable. Hope they can keep this in the air. Scary that AA let’s these things go. pic.twitter.com/T5z8SoPXqK

- American’s Los Angeles – Auckland seasonal service returns. It’s part of their Qantas joint venture, but still is significant because it’s Pacific flying from Los Angeles that isn’t to a JV hub. American has said they no longer consider LAX their transpacific gateway – indeed their existing Auckland service is from Dallas.
This will decrease to 3x weekly from mid-February before suspending in early March. AA last flew LAX-AKL in 2020.
Both United and Delta will launch their own LAX-AKL flights later this year. Peak weekly LAX-AKL flights:
– 10x weekly NZ
– 7x weekly DL, AA

- She’s forgotten that her members work for… airlines? (She tries to square the circle, arguing that “we can’t land planes or take off” because of climate change.)
“Four years ago, our union was asked, ‘Why were you the first and why did you endorse the Green New Deal?’ And we said, ‘We read it.’ This is a plan that is worker centered. And that's why it's going to work.”

Sara Nelson is a fool.
When celebrities post about a brand, it’s a paid partnership.
I mean, I get that passengers should receive the working seat they paid for, but these ridiculous, melodramatic “OMG my armrest isn’t perfect, we’ll probably crash because the plane isn’t well maintained” hot takes are so absurd.
If this person had a legit concern about the plane’s safety then self-preservation instincts would have kicked in and they would have deplaned. They just wanted attention.
Gary – a TYPO: On this page, about the A330 set on fire in Sudan, you said :
“The crew of the Saudia Airbus A330 that was set ablaze in Kabul has been extracted”.
I assume that needs to be changed to “Khartoum”. 🙂
