Getting Used To Flying Without Air Force One

Oddly, Ms. Trump tags Meat Loaf in her tweet. The 73 year old ground meat dish is most famous for appearing in several photos in the American Express Centurion Lounge at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport.

  1. @UA-NYC… didn’t do anything for the economy? By what metric? Oh that’s right… the government didn’t magically hand the bottom 80% checks as a socialist handout. Again, basic economics… YOU stated that corporate taxes could go up half a percentage point and cover all of the newly proposed programs. Not gonna happen. And spare me your NPR and BI drivel.

  2. @ OneXMarine. Your sound and logical points go on deaf ears. They just don’t know how little they just don’t know. So many of the commenters seem to have an adequate amount of intelligence but are sorely lacking in wisdom . . . to the point of making foolish remarks. When scanning much of this rubbish, I’m reminded of the Mark Twain quote, “Never argue with a fool. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.”
Many of those posting comments are people that I would be more than reluctant to share a foxhole with. Their comments are convincing of having very poor discernment.

  3. It is possible that Trump’s policies benefitted certain people (e.g. someone who owns a business and has a 401K) but not others (e.g. someone from the working class without any investments). As a result, these two individuals would probably have very different opinions of those policies (positive for the business owner and negative for the worker).

Here’s the important thing – neither of those people are wrong. They are both absolutely correct when considering things from their own perspective. Policies are not inherently good or bad, it’s just that their benefits and harms tend to affect different groups. Your opinion of a policy generally reflects which group you fall into rather than any objective measure of the policy itself.

Unfortunately, due to the increasingly polarized and individualist culture in the United States, Americans seem to be losing the ability to consider issues from any perspective but their own. It’s difficult to have a reasonable discussion when people only see things as black and white instead of the grey of reality.

  4. Congratulations to the great citizens, oops, patriots, LOL, of the USA. You have officially won the race to the bottom. What a disgraceful. narcissistic. self serving, corrupt embarrassment of a nation you have become. You can forget taking the moral, political or ethical high ground on international matters. Your allegedly once great nation is now a laughing stock. The free world has moved on and no longer needs or wants you. Kind of like a drunk uncle at a wedding. You think it’s all about you when everyone else just pities you but you don’t see it. Pathetic rabble.
