I’ll be speaking at Zorkfest in Las Vegas, the miles and points and casino loyalty event, December 5-7.
I attended the event for the first time in Reno two years ago, and gave a talk in the suite where Donald Trump first met Stormy Daniels. It was the original suite built for Sammy Davis, Jr. back in the Jim Crow era so he’d be treated properly. Here was the view from that suite:

Last year’s event was in Las Vegas. I was in and out for my talk, but I’ll be staying longer this year.

This year’s event is at M Resort in Las Vegas. I’m planning to arrive for the opening reception on Friday evening. Since I’ll be there all day Saturday, we thought we’d organize a lunch for readers.
The first 15 people who register using code vftw2025 will join me for lunch (that’s otherwise on your own) during the Saturday Noon – 1:15 p.m. break.

Here’s hotel information and you can book into the room block here.
For more introductory content, there’s an optional early start before the main event begins on Friday afternoon,
Get “up to speed,”…travel loyalty or casino loyalty or both! Introducing Miles&Points Labs Sponsored by Roame and Casino Labs Return
This year, we have (Miles&Points) small lab sessions on different topics, for example “finding award redemptions in premium cabins to Asia”
Casino Labs are hands on experience learning about craps and blackjack.
Nice to see Roame involved as well, they’ve got a useful award-finding tool especially for getting a broad look at award availability across a wide range of destinations and dates to find those needles-in-haystacks (like Japan Airlines first class).
Hopefully I’ll see and meet some of you there! And if you already registered for ZorkFest and there are still spots available we should be able to accommodate that. Or, maybe you want to register but space for this is full when you enter the code vftw2025. In either case shoot a note to vipassist@travelzork.com (with your ticket #, if already registered) to see how they can help.

Let us know if it’s ever in NYC. No way I’m ever going back to Vegas voluntarily. Safe travels!
And here I thought it was a conference for fans of old Infocom text adventures.
Let’s get those LV Tourism numbers up! Nice offer, but can’t make it.
@ Gary — Along the lines of what 1990 said, this would be great if it didn’t require stepping into the armpit of America, aka Las Vegas.
Nice offer Gary. I’ll be somewhere on the other side of the mud ball or I’d attend. Best wishes for a great event. I know you’ll miss Mike Hunt.
I already registered for ZorkFest, but I hope to see you there.
That’s a real punch in @Mike Hunt. Wonder if @Ken A will make the trip? And if you fly, @Matt probably asks that you, please consider Delta.
Can we share a room?
@Tim Done — Donchu dare be impersonating the real-Tim!
@Denver Refugee,
Same… Been waiting on an update for decades… did I just date myself?
@1990, you wrote: “I wonder if @Ken A will make the trip?”
I have booked my trip to ZorkFest 2025, but whenever I fly with American Airlines from DTW to PHX, LAX, and LAS, I never know if I will arrive on schedule or if I will experience a waitlist of more than an hour to enter the AMEX Centurion Lounges in PHX and LAX.
@Ken A — Nice! You always have the most interesting routings! Use that Amex app for the Waitlist upon landing, perhaps, you’ll be ‘up’ once you deplane, walk there. Oh, the ‘views’ of the customs area at the Centurion in LAX… If not, why not ‘try’ either of those tiny Admirals Clubs at PHX, and T4 at LAX?!
@Denver Refugee — that was my first thought, too!! LOL
@Denver Refugee : perhaps you and I are the only two left who remember Infocom/Zork. I started on the PDP-11 a long long time ago in a galaxy far away (perhaps, just afterwards). I wonder how this one er, stole the name…?
Already registered, look forward to seeing you again.
