News and notes from around the interweb:
- Uh, no. In fact, sex is better in a hotel bed than at home.
- Novelty
- Quality of bed and bedding
- Escape from life – whether it’s your kids’ toys on the ground, bills to pay, or other chores. The little reminders that make it hard to fantasize aren’t there.

- Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) has been in Congress for 42 years. He will not run for re-election.
He’s been a long-time opponent of internet freedom. He’s opposed high skilled immigration to the U.S. He’s promoted federal funding for his wife’s lobbying clients. And he kicked over a million poor people out of the banking system and into higher cost structures like check cashing stores thanks to the Durbin amendment to Dodd Frank which made free checking accounts uneconomic, in a huge giveaway to retailers.
He’s responsible for upending debit card rewards, and wanted to do the same to your frequent flyer miles. May G-d have mercy on his soul.
The decision of whether to run for re-election has not been easy. I truly love the job of being a United States Senator.
But in my heart, I know it’s time to pass the torch.
So, I am announcing today that I will not be seeking re-election at the end of my term. pic.twitter.com/eiBTPjToFT

- Parents, you do your children a disservice when you don’t consider first initial + first three letters of your last name.
- Flight attendants in loco parentis
- Truly astonishing Atlanta airport parking rate increases they justify it with ‘high inflation’ but then implement increases that dwarf inflation.
- Expedia eliminates points-earning for VRBO bookings unless you have elite status in their program, and reduces earning for first-tier elites as well. And the only positive think about their new-ish program was earning and redemption for short-term rentals! So of course Expedia is doing the most Expedia thing ever.
You forgot the #1 reason sex in hotel rooms is better – your spouse is at home.
“Since August of 2017 to now, the consumer price index was over 34%,” said Atlanta airport assistant manager Tyronia Smith. “It’s really catching the rates up with where it should be based on economic conditions.”
Sure, attempting to explain away a 300% price increase at the international terminal hourly lot due to a higher CPI of 34% lol…
“You forgot the #1 reason sex in hotel rooms is better – your spouse is at home.” lololo
Just a money grab at Atlanta, but it shows that the culture of lying isn’t just for the airlines.
Sex in the kitchen can be hot but maybe not the hotel kitchen. Sex outside can also be hot but maybe not outside the hotel.
@Gary: Re: Dick Durbin– if you did not grow up in Chicago, you don’t know about the Currency Exchange lobby. Until the 80s, branch banking was illegal in Illinois because of the influence and $$$ of the Currency Exchanges. Eveny bank in Illinois had only one location. If people wanted to cash a check, pay a bill, or do anything else financial, and they were too far from their bank, they did it at a Currency Exchange for a fee. Interstate branch banking brought this sordid tale of graft and corruption to an end in Chicago (because of federal laws authorizing it). But it had nothing to do with “retailers”. Durbin has been a friend of the Currency Exchange lobby since forever,
And, re – sex in the hotel — maybe it’s the bedbugs.
The one thing Durban got right. Was this man playing the rewards industry.
Rewards are inflationary. Without rewards, everything would be 2% cheaper.
You can always buy miles if you want them, but forcing everyone to pay for rewards, whether they want them or not, and check out his absolutely horrendous and against American freedoms. Add to this the fact of the poor don’t use credit cards, so they are effectively subsidizing their wealthy, and the system is completely unethical.
This attack on Durban’s try to reform credit cards completely lacks any tzedakah. Be careful.
@L737 — Gary did it! He posted on Senator Durbin, like he said he would. I have a different ‘take’ on this–less so about Durbin’s efforts related to debit cards, and more so as an indication of a ‘changing of the guard’ within the Democratic Party. Unlike RBG, Senator Dianne Feinstein, or #46, Dick knows to get out of the game before it’s too late. So, from my perspective, this is good for a different reason. Illinois is a safe ‘blue’ Senate seat, so ideally the primary will provide options for younger, more vibrant figures. Out with the old. In with the new. We need the next generation of leadership to step up. No more geriatrics. Vigor! Excelsior!
@Someone — Nah, take your spouse with you; better when you don’t have to do your own laundry after. What is this anyway, boomer humor, hating your own wife? Terrible. Not even funny.
@jns — Ahh, an exhibitionist! Kinky.
