Hyatt Leverage is a small business program you can sign up for to get your own discount code good for ‘up to 15% off’ of stays. It won’t be 15% off the best rate you can find, in many cases, but will often be the lowest rate available – at least without using corporate codes you probably aren’t eligible for.
This program offers instant signup. It works like the old Starwood SET codes, that you could get pretty easily for yourself as well. In order to be eligible you need a legal entity with business registration or tax ID number but they don’t ask you for it during the signup process. Your rate is explicitly allowed for both business and leisure travel.
Of course a hotel can ask to verify eligibility for your corporate rate, but a business card or small business credit card with your business’s name on it works for that.
I tested it at my most frequent stay property. The rate was taking 15% off of the ‘Standard’ rate. In this case the AAA rates and Member rates were the same – and this ‘corporate rate for anyone’ beat them both. In fact it was $13 better than the Member (and AAA) advance purchase rate – without advance purchase required.
Program terms say you’ll need to credit 50 nights or more a year to remain eligible to the program, though that’s something I’ll have no problem doing as a solo traveler for my company totaling both work and leisure stays.
