In April I wrote about AAdvantage university and earning 1000 miles for watching online videos.
The 1000 miles are worth about $17 and of course can extend the life of your miles by 18 months (since accounts go inactive and miles forfeit with 18 months of inactivity).
This offer expires June 12.
To earn the miles, just go to the AAdvantage university site. You’ll find 6 courses that earn 150 miles each and you earn 100 more miles for completing them all.
They want to teach you about the AAdvantage program, and engage you in how it works — and they’ll “pay you” to do it. Each course is a video that lasts a minute or two. If you think you know everything there is to know, just fast forward to the end of the video instead of watching. You’ll have to answer one question after each video to earn the points. (You get the miles though even if you answer the question incorrectly..) All in the exercise takes a couple of minutes, then, to complete.
It’s an easy 1000 miles so make sure you do this for all of the accounts you manage.
I did this at the time and my miles still haven’t posted…anyone actually get these yet?
@alan k – as with many such things they’re batched so i wouldn’t have expected them in less than 6 to 8 weeks (nor are they promised faster)
I completed the videos and registered. When I tried to do it again for my wife and daughter, the cookies recognized that I had already done the videos and earned my 1,000 miles, but it allowed me to put in their information and register them without viewing the videos again. Any idea if this will eventually work, or do I need to clear out the cache and cookies and do it again for each of them?
Yes, you receive a clearly worded message that states: “Your bonus miles will deposited into your account 6 to 8 weeks after this promotion ends.”
So that would be 6 to 8 weeks after June 12. (Of course, it is possible that the miles will be posted sooner than that.)
