If You’re Buying the Cheapest Domestic Fares, Fly Delta

Spirit offers perhaps the worst airline experience in America. But Spirit will let you pay to bring a full size carry-on bag onboard.

United’s Basic Economy fares won’t let you bring a rollaboard onto the plane (unless you have MileagePlus elite status, a United co-brand credit card, or are a Star Alliance Gold member). You have to check the bag (and wait for it, and maybe lose it) and pay for the privilege of doing so.

Buy Up to 160,000 Hilton Points For Just Half a Cent Each Through December 5

Hilton usually charges a penny apiece for points, so with this bonus is selling points for half a cent each. Their recent promotional pricing is tied for the cheapest I’ve ever seen (in June 2015 they offered a 100% bonus on purchased points also, and a few months back they ran 50% off). They’re selling points for just about what they’re worth.

Are Most Airport Noise Complaints Bogus?

When people buy homes, they generally know they are doing so near an airport and planes are noisy. Although the FAA does change approach paths — indeed, they’ve been working towards more direct and fuel efficient landing routes which are better for airline economics and ticket prices, and better for the environment, but potentially generating more complaints from residents surrounding airports.

Planes are far quieter than they were decades ago, but there are more noise complaints also.
