Policy body cam footage has been going viral about a pilot whose girlfriend finds him at home in Tacoma, Washington after a trip – with a flight attendant.
Watching all 18 minutes of the video, though, it appears that the girlfriend is really an ex-girlfriend – she and the pilot had just broken up the previous week after an “11 year relationship” – and she’s a pilot, too. She says she’s just returned from a trip to Shanghai.
The pilot seems to be dating this flight attendant and it doesn’t seem like a brand new relationship, either, so there appears to have been… overlap. The flight attendant was on her way out of the house, and had spent the night. She appears to be wearing a Delta (purple) uniform and is reportedly Seattle-based. Presumably all three work for Delta, since the ex- says “everybody in the airline knows what he’s doing” with this new woman. They may all be Seattle-based, since Delta flies Seattle – Shanghai.
The (ex-)girlriend pilot tells police she never hurt anyone, and that the (new)girlfriend was beating her. The ex- broke the glass on what appears to be a sliding door of the pilot’s house. And she reportedly threatened to kill the boyfriend. There’s back and forth over who hit whom, and who threatened to kill each other.
The most priceless thing I think is the pilot’s smirk. He seems to be enjoying this, watching the two women fighting over him.

There’s discussion of the ex-girlfriend pilot being drunk in the videos. She’s not showing good judgment under pressure. Breakups are hard. Breaking things, fighting people, and drinking to excess though aren’t strategies for improving the situation. But it’s fine, she’s got over 1,500 hours in the cockpit.
Maybe the strangest part of the video is when the female pilot defends her ex to the police, insisting that he can attack her and “that’s not a crime.” She goes on to tell the police that she’ll “instruct” them on the law.
You can see inside the pilot’s home. Since Delta is implicated in the video I’d expect the place to be more… premium. Instead, there are mirrors and art on the ground, leaning against the wall. Total bachelor pad. Cheating pilot, too, in addition to the smug demeanor plays into all of the stereotypes.
In the end, police take the female pilot in handcuffs to a Tacoma-area emergency room.
So a drunk ex-girlfriend pilot stalks her ex and finds he has moved on. She sounds so safe piloting an airplane (sarcasm).
Delta hires premium people.
in class we get to chose what blogs we read and I’m glad I read yours, this story is crazy and id love to know more
This sort of thing would never happen to people employed by a premium airli……oh wait a sec…..
The pilot is the common denominator between the two women. Clearly communication between all of them is lacking.
Very poor example of CRM.
What’s this all about Cap? Eludicate! This is good premium level drama, with premium decor, and a premium amount of smugness. Climb higher, I do declare!
please do followup, Gary, and let us know how long they remain Delta employees, if they were at all.
A very sad ending to a professional career. This will have to be dealt with by the airline, but is it possible she would be permitted to command a civilian airliner again in the future?
I hope that sometime in the future she is able to realize she will be better off without him in her life.
There is a flight attendant on twitter that seems to put her entire value in having a BF, and maybe drinking alcohol. She is constantly crying over failed relationships, often because the guy was married (and often a pilot).
Sometimes people need to open their eyes since it is rare someone is that good at deceiving you and if someone doesn’t want to be with you anymore, it is pointless to try to force them to change their mind since that would only be a temp fix before it ends again.
Too many people are drama queens/kinds.
Seems she forgot that sometimes the nearest exit? May just be behind you…
@Tim Dunn … Hopefully they will remain Delta employees , if they are conscientious and qualified . What happened at the pilot’s home has nothing to do with airline employment .
@Alert Assault, destruction of property, and death threats don’t exactly demonstrate the level of professionalism and level-headedness that I’d want to see in my flight crew, personally. Neither does abuse of alcohol, for that matter.
I think they call that the Delta Difference…
Alert
Fighting between employees to the point the police are called is not conducive on or off the job
” Cheating pilot, too, in addition to the smug demeanor plays into all of the stereotypes.” THIS is completely out of line dude, and uncalled for. It’s people like you who perpetuate “stereotypes” that are so wrong and outdated. This may have been a stereotypical pilot fifty years ago, but not these days. You may know a lot about miles and points, but you don’t know squat about the life of a typical (if there is even such a thing) airline pilot.
Anyone remember the flight attendant who made a very provocative pose…in uniform? Well, she took her ID off and the name tag off BUT…there was a distinct indication that she was on her company’s aircraft and in the company’s uniform. Brand recognition is everything. She was terminated! Whatcha bet some action will be taken for associating the brand with their shenanigans?
The fact that the author of this article even took the time to research and publish this says a lot about this Man. Complete garbage; nothing here benefits the reader or informs any one of any pertinent Aviation information. Have you no shame sir? You are the most unserious of journalists and you lack all dignity. View From The Wing is just terrible. The lowest of the low when it comes to any credible insight into the aviation world. Try and endeavor to bring some decency to the world instead of this wannabe Jerry Springer pawning for hits to your trivial ill informed refuse of a web site. Go and do something real. Just be better for goodness sake. You should be embarrassed, but people like you never feel shame.
Now I know why delta always has to overprice their tickets and devalue their miles
They hire all the best people
Who knew?
This is just a mediocre love triangle.
Can you imagine the cat fight if these had been Spirit employees!!!
Now, that’s worth watching!!
And so what’s new about this? Hardly newsworthy. Things happen at the “office.” Hate me but I’m old fashioned and cant relate to female pilots.
She’s an international airline pilot.
She just flew in from Shanghai.
She works hard.
Please, this has nothing to do directly with Delta. I’ve been in commercial aviation for over thirty five years. I’ve seen this over and over throughout the years, in every department not just pilots and flight attendants. My brother was a director of pulmonary medicine in several hospitals and had the same with doctors, nurses and staff. It’s everywhere. Don’t blame one company as Delta for everyone’s infidelities.
@ TravelWarr. Well said. You win.
Prediction: the man keeps his job, the women don’t.
Not newsworthy. This is their private business. Sometimes life is messy…it’s not as though any of us are in a position to judge.
