Reader Giveaway: Free Stay With Breakfast at the Park Hyatt Buenos Aires

The Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt Buenos Aires is a great city hotel, set in an upscale neighbor apart from the hustle and bustle of the city and just a few blocks from the Four Seasons. There are two separate buildings, connected via underground walkway or outside through the garden. There’s the original Palacio and there’s a new tower. I’ve really enjoyed staying there.

The hotel itself is stunning, modern and minimalist for the bulk of the property and yet it blends well with its exterior and palace heritage. In a way it’s a Park Hyatt the way that I’ve come to expect throughout the Asia Pacific, it’s an oasis in a city like Buenos Aires

Service at the hotel in general was outstanding. The front desk staff were extremely friendly.

And I’m giving away a stay at this Park Hyatt to a reader — read on! I’m helping to give away 2 nights here inclusive of breakfast.

Enjoy a 2-night stay for 2 guests in a Park Deluxe King Room at the five-star Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt Buenos Aires located in the heart of the French heritage district of Recoleta, including daily breakfast at Gioia Restaurant & Terraces plus full access to Ahin Wellness & Spa, valued at approximately $1,500 USD / £1,160 GBP

This is a very special giveaway, thanks to my good friends at Luxury Travel Diary. Regular readers know them as a high-end travel blog with great reviews. They’re based in the UK and run travel auctions with real bargains.

As I’ve said before, folks who already know about these auctions don’t like this added attention, because there don’t seem to be enough bidders for many of their best offerings relative to the value available. Some of their items go way too cheap.

This prize is being given away by the hotel and Luxury Travel Diary, I’m just helping to highlight it and randomly select the winner.

To enter: leave a comment on this post with your favorite item up for auction at Luxury Travel Diary, or why you would choose to stay at Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt Buenos Aires. You may enter two times if you wish and answer those two questions one time each in separate comments.

Contest deadline and drawing winner: Entries close Saturday, September 9 at Noon eastern. I will draw winner with the assistance of random.org.

The fine print: Advance booking is required and it’s subject to availability. Terms and conditions apply. Winner will have one week to respond to email notifying of the prize, otherwise the prize will be forfeit and made available to another reader.

For avoidance of doubt, I have no affiliation with Luxury Travel Diary or Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt Buenos Aires. I am not getting anything in exchange for running this giveaway other than an opportunity to share the place with readers.

The hotel is solely responsible for providing prize to winner. All decisions made in the course of running this giveaway are final and unappealable and your entry signifies your acceptance. The goal here is to make readers aware of a pretty cool auction opportunity, and to give away a stay. So please don’t make it hard on me for doing so!

  1. Brazil is where the nuts come from! So I belong there and might as well stay in luxury st the Park Hyatt.

  2. I’m planning a South American trip with 2 days in Buenos Aires so Park Hyatt Buenos Aires would be a great hotel to stay.

  3. I would love to win the three nights auction for Andaz Papagayo and has been on top of my list for many months now. Thank you to Gary and Luxury Travel Diary. I look forward to visiting the Park Hyatt in Argentina

  4. I’d love to stay at the Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt Buenos Aires, mainly because it would give me very good reason to explore a new country. I’ve never been to Argentina!

  5. Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt Buenos Aires – always wanted to go to Argentina ever since I saw Evita.

  6. Answer #1: Why I would want to stay at Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt Buenos Aires? Well, although the smart aleck in me would say, “Why not?”, it’s hardly an appropriate response. I would *love* to visit Argentina, a country I’ve never (yet) been to, in part for all the legendary history but also — after spending 40 years in the wine trade — I would love to be able to try some of the great food and wines my friends who work in the wine industry there keep telling me about.

  7. Answer #2: My favorite item currently up for auction — or, more truthfully, ONE of my favorite items up for auction is the “5-night stay for 2 guests in an Artist Queen Room at Park Hotel Tokyo in the Shiodome Media Tower, Higashi Shimbashi in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan.” A very close friend of ours is a well-known and -connected chef here in California but originally from Sendai, in the Miyagi Prefecture north of Tokyo, and he has been telling us for years that we need to go to Japan . . . we would love to! And as a big “film buff,” how could I miss a chance to stay at the hotel made famous by Sophia Coppola’s great film, “Lost in Translation”?

  8. I’d love to stay at Park Hyatt Buenos Aires and experience the romance of Argentinean capital city with its wine, food and tango.

  9. My favorite item for auction is 5 Nights At Park Hotel Tokyo, Minato-Ku, Tokyo, Japan. Could really use for the planned trip to Japan this spring.

  10. I’d love to stay at the Palacio Duhau because I lived in Argentina in the early 2000s. I was posted to the American Embassy as a junior FSO back then. It was a turbulent time in the country’s recent history. In late 2001, political problems came to the fore and there were protests in the streets, riots, and eventually President de la Rua’s government fell. Then, there was a run on the banks because the government unpegged Argentina’s currency to the dollar and suddenly, people’s savings were worth much less. In December 2001 five Presidents took office in the span of two weeks. It was truly a chaotic time. With my meager junior officer salary, I became two to three times wealthier in a matter of months during my second year at post. I never returned to Argentina and would love to see what has and hasn’t changed. Getting a chance to stay at what is undoubtedly the swankiest hotel in town would be icing on the cake.

  11. I would love to stay at the Palacio Duhau because it reminds me to the old world charm that Portenos naturally exude, the fact that it looks like the interiors came straight out of Wallpaper* (and that it looks like a more hip version than its neighbor down the street, the Alvear Palace Hotel), the convenience of it located near the Cementerio de la Recoleta where Eva Peron is, while also be able to let me stroll to Cabana Las Lilas for a perfect Asado de Tira or Bife de Chorizo. It’s the perfect hotel for the perfect two night stay in one of the most romantic cities out there–Buenos Aires.

  12. I’ve stayed at the Four Seasons in Buenos Aires but never the Park Hyatt. I would love the opportunity to stay at the Park Hyatt to compare the two properties.

  13. From the auction, the 3-night stay at the Andaz Papagayo Resort in Costa Rica would be a great way to spend a mini-vacation.

  14. I was just planning on visiting Buenos Aires! So this is a coincidence! I’ve never been to South America and I’ve heard BA is stunning!

  15. I’d love to stay at the Palacio Duhau because it seems like a great and majestic hotel to stay at while enjoying the beauty of Buenos Aires!

  25. I’d go with Park Hyatt Siem Reap in Cambodia. Never been so if you’re going to go, go Park Hyatt.
