- Both Southwest and JetBlue were ruled by the Department of Transportation to have violated federal disability rules in denying air travel mask exemptions.
- Why has the U.S. gotten so bad at doing big infrastructure projects even compared to Europe? (NYT) It seems like too many points at which too many groups can exercise veto, leverage, or delay.

- At MSP airport, Thrifty charged me $932 for returning the car to Terminal 1 instead of Terminal 2

“Rumored New Hyatt Promotion”
Where is this article???
Unsurprisingly, it looks like Christopher Elliott got the MSP rental car situation wrong. Matthew Klint has a nice writeup on his blog that it appears the extra $932 was not from returning it to the wrong terminal in MSP, but instead was a one-way rental fee for driving the car from SNA to MSP.
Has no one at the NYT ever heard of the “new” Berlin airport?
Here’s a cool idea for a hotel promotion:
1) Rooms and hallways are cleaned daily
2) Normal meal availability; complimentary if promised
3) Other basic services reliably provided (ice machines, pool, shuttles to airport hotels) instead of “Can’t do that because COVID”
That would make me enthusiastic about staying hotels regularly again.
I would love to hear about the new Hyatt promo as I have to plan my travel for Jan and Feb.
