Southwest Passenger Removed, Throws Food Down The Aisle — Over His Wife Talking To Another Man

Video shows Southwest crew and staff confronting a passenger during a loud onboard meltdown—an argument that other travelers in the clip tie to jealousy over his wife talking to another passenger. As he’s removed, he’s still clutching food, and the situation escalates into a food‑throwing moment that has the cabin reacting in real time.

The plane is on the ground, and a man wearing a tight gray Under Armour shirt and a white baseball cap is in the aisle, angry, and repeatedly addressing people filming him. A flight attendant tries to control the situation, and a ground employee moves in and positions himself between the passenger and others.

Eventually the food gets thrown (“French fries anyone?”). And he was upset because his wife was talking to another man next to her. He became threatening, other passengers started chiming in, and he was told he’d have to deplane – but he refused – and he threw his food at them. People were laughing at him, making him angrier.

Warning that this video has a bunch of ‘not safe for work’ (or even ‘work from home’) language.

Don’t f- point your finger at me, m-f.
  • Nutjob, you’re running your f- mouth, m-f
  • Put your f- phone down, you dbag.

And all that before we get to,

Don’t make me throw my food at you.

The internet broadly wants him banned “from flying” (not just from Southwest!) and finds him insecure and jealous. Plenty of people speculate on steroids and uncontrolled rage. Several people try to pin a political identity on him… take your guess. At the same time, it’s possible that some other passengers were antagonizing him, winding him up, though he’s the one responsible for his ultimate behavior.

I think my favorite reaction (besides “Male Karen”) was,

If he wasn’t so cheap he could of bought a seat next to his wife!

For a couple more weeks Southwest still has open seating, rather than paid seat assignments! So presumably they were among the last to board. It wasn’t that he failed to pay for a seat next to his wife. He didn’t pay for Early Bird check-in, or they changed flights within 24 hours of departure. Odds on he also didn’t check in right at 24 hours prior to departure, got a high C boarding number, and there just weren’t seats left together. Maybe she didn’t want to sit near him!

We’ve seen plenty of other passengers throwing food before – for instance a year ago a Delta customer ditched their meal tray in the aisle forcing everyone to step through trash, and another man dumped food in the aisle instead of waiting for the flight attendant to pick up their tray.

  1. “take your guess” … I’m not sure it really matters. Like, you can be liberal, conservative, agnostic, fine, but, if you’re gonna disrupt the entire flight, over apparent marital insecurity, that’s no bueno.

  2. The passengers recording and making comments should also have to deplane. Antagonizing the guy doesn’t help the situation.
