The old saying is that there are only two kinds of luggage, “carry on and lost.” It should probably be “lost or stolen.”
Your belongings are outside of your possession, and can you really trust anyone but yourself?

I love deep discount fares to Hawaii, but it’s a long flight and I’d much rather sit up front. I used to love it when Alaska Airlines $99 companion tickets were valid for first class travel, I’d buy first.
While first class can be cheaper to Hawaii than on similar-distance business routes, it’s rarely super cheap. So sub-$900 first class roundtrips from the West Coast are worth highlighting.
Deals are available on Hawaiian Airlines and on Delta.

It seems to me that if checked bags are going to be separately charged, then customers should be refunded if their bags are lost and offered compensation if their bags are delayed. But it’s a special type of gall to raise the price of checked bags and not offer such basic assurances in return.

It’s hard to mind so much having a little fun on the job when they show enthusiasm, and a lack of care in the world for who might be watching — as in the case of this ramp worker who took a break from his job to play “toss the cone.”
The man shoots — and he scores! And he’s caught on video experiencing the true thrill of victory. The video is just 13 seconds, and worth watching all the way to the end.

Priority Pass gets you access to four different places in the Portland airport, and the American Express Platinum card can get you one more. Concourses are all connected airside so you have access to everything with a bit of a walk.

American Airlines will move out of terminal 2 in March 2020 and “commence operations in our new Terminal 1 and Boarding Area B”
However Alaska Airlines will not take over the Admirals Club space. The airport wants that for retail. Alaska wants to “leas[e] some of the build-back space for a potential lounge” and may be looking at a two-level club.

Frequent flyer programs create tremendous value for airlines. They’re highly profitable, and have been for years. When United filed for bankruptcy it was said to have to continue flying to support the underlying credit card business. The airline’s first call after seeing the judge each time was to Jamie Dimon.
The issuer of the United co-brand credit card provided debtor-in-possession financing to United, and co-led bankruptcy exit financing. As with other airlines, United received hundreds of millions of dollars in loans backed by future mileage sales to provide liquidity during the financial crisis.

Last night a ground worker stole a Bombardier Q400 at Seattle Tacoma airport belonging to Alaska Airlines wholly-owned regional carrier Horizon Air. While much of the initial reporting suggested the plane was stolen by a mechanic, it was a 29 year old Horizon Air ground service agent.
The plane (N449QX) was taken from maintenance around 8 p.m. local time in Seattle and crashed on Ketron Island about an hour later.
