‘I’d Pay for This Anywhere’: Capital One Landing Adds New José Andrés Dishes—Venture X Flyers Eat Free At DCA

Jul 04 2025

I love that they’re refreshing the menu, and I understand they’ll be turning it over further for fall. Some of the plates do seem to be showing wear from use, scratches and design scuffed around the edges. But it’s a really nice restaurant in an airport and Capital One is doing a fantastic job with it – which makes me excited to see the LaGuardia location when it opens. I’d gladly spend time here over just about any lounge in the United States.

Step Inside Capital One’s New Las Vegas Airport Lounge: Caviar, Craft Cocktails, And Relaxing Views Worth Arriving Early For

Feb 20 2025

The Capital One Lounge Las Vegas opens tomorrow. It’s well-located for passengers on the biggest airlines. It feels spacious with floor-to-ceiling windows and high ceilings that offer views both into the terminal and out over airport operations and the mountains behind. And it offers excellent food and beverage.

Fast, Flavorful, And Unforgettable: Capital One’s Four-Minute Tapas At DCA Redefines U.S. Airport Dining

Dec 15 2024

I had the opportunity to test the Capital One Landing at Washington’s Reagan National airport again, and this time under ‘real world’ conditions over the past week.

I am always skeptical that execution of food will be as good when the executives aren’t there, and under pressure to turn out dishes at the type of volume necessary for a full house of travelers.

Review: Capital One Lounge Washington Dulles (Opens Tomorrow)

Sep 06 2023

The new Capital One Lounge Washington Dulles has finally arrived. Capital One opened its first airport lounge at Dallas – Fort Worth in November 2021. Since then we’ve been awaiting expansion and it’s about to happen. The Washington Dulles lounge opens Thursday, September 7. Then we’re about a month away from Denver opening. Then next year we should see Capital One’s new restaurant concept with Jose Andres at Washington National and New York LaGuardia next year. I got a sneak peak of the Washington Dulles airport lounge. It’s really good, with I think the best food at the airport. But it’s too small, because cardmembers are going to want to visit and spend time here. And when you build a good airport lounge, passengers are going to stay longer and eat more. That’s true when…

Spending The Day At DFW Airport: 4 Lounges, Sit Down Dining, A Spa, And Free Video Games

Sep 04 2023

Last week one of my cousins from Australia was passing through Dallas. He’d been in the Northeast for a few days and didn’t have time to make a visit in Austin, since he needed to make it home for my aunt’s 70th birthday right after being in a wedding. But he booked a long layover, because he was traveling on separate tickets and very badly didn’t want a delay of his first flight to cause him to miss his business class award home. He’d be at DFW airport for about 8 hours, so I agreed to meet him there. I offered that we could leave the airport, but he actually wanted to see all the things. So we decided to make a day of DFW. I caught a 1 p.m. American Airlines flight to DFW.…

Update On Capital One Lounges: Next Lounge Readies For Opening, New Wait List Management System

Jul 17 2023

Like American Express, Capital One is building out its own network of lounges. Chase has their lounges in partnership with Collinson Group, which owns The Club and Priority Pass. So far, though, there’s only one Capital One lounge – at Dallas – Fort Worth airport. That opened about a year and a half ago.

Fortunately we’re getting a better sense of what’s happening with future projects.

NOW OPEN! Inside Capital One’s First Airport Lounge: Dallas – Fort Worth

Nov 04 2021

I had the opportunity to visit the very first Capital One airport lounge at Dallas – Fort Worth on Wednesday, a couple of weeks before opening. This is a great space, really thoughtfully designed with a lot of details built-in. They’ve invested a lot, and what impressed me most was the food which wasn’t just ‘good for an airport lounge’ but genuinely good. I’m hoping it scales and is sustainable, because you’re going to want to check it out.
