Review: Capital One Lounge Washington Dulles (Opens Tomorrow)

The new Capital One Lounge Washington Dulles has finally arrived. Capital One opened its first airport lounge at Dallas – Fort Worth in November 2021. Since then we’ve been awaiting expansion and it’s about to happen. The Washington Dulles lounge opens Thursday, September 7. Then we’re about a month away from Denver opening. Then next year we should see Capital One’s new restaurant concept with Jose Andres at Washington National and New York LaGuardia next year. I got a sneak peak of the Washington Dulles airport lounge. It’s really good, with I think the best food at the airport. But it’s too small, because cardmembers are going to want to visit and spend time here. Update On Capital One Lounges: Next Lounge Readies For Opening, New Wait List Management System

Like American Express, Capital One is building out its own network of lounges. Chase has their lounges in partnership with Collinson Group, which owns The Club and Priority Pass. So far, though, there’s only one Capital One lounge – at Dallas – Fort Worth airport. That opened about a year and a half ago.

Fortunately we’re getting a better sense of what’s happening with future projects.

Walmart Sues To End Capital One Credit Card Relationship

A lawsuit to terminate the deal doesn’t mean that it will be terminated. The two parties can settle the suit, presumably with Capital One paying more to continue the relationship. On the other hand, a lawsuit to terminate hangs over the partnership in the meantime making it more difficult to maximize the value of the deal. Investments in the partnership remain in limbo in the meantime, which is bad for both sides.

Virginia Passed Emergency Legislation To Let Chase, Capital One Lounges Serve Alcohol

Sometimes the easiest route to serving alcohol in an airport club is just to… change the law. That’s what’s happening in Virginia. And it’s going to get you served in new Capital One spaces at Washington Dulles and National airports, and at the Chase ‘The Club’ collaboration at Dulles.

Virginia’s legislature has passed an ’emergency’ law (i.e., goes into effect right away rather than waiting until July 1), to extend “mixed-beverage carrier licenses to financial institutions, their subsidiaries or contractors.”
