Detroit Airport Tells Passengers To Tip At Water Refill Stations: Is Your Money Just Another Hidden Fee?
You’re not allowed to bring bottles filled with water through airport security. Bottled water is often much more expensive at the airport. If you want to avoid the single use plastics, or just save money, airports frequently have filling stations.
At the Detroit airport these water filling machines solicit tips.

Allegations have surfaced against the private security force at the Marriott Renaissance Center, originally founded by General Motors, involving over a dozen years of racially motivated abuse and violence against African American guests and visitors. Detroit’s Second Airport Will Be Resurrected With $100 Million In Taxpayer Cash
When we allocate ‘money for infrastructure’ we do stupid things with it, like giving $100 million to a zombie airport near Detroit that hasn’t had commercial service in 20 years. Updates To The Main Delta Sky Club In Detroit
A correspondent shares that the renovations to the kitchen at the main Delta Sky Club in DTW has been completed, and that it features mostly new furniture with dividers designed to offer privacy. Detroit has an aggressive new entry in the race, as a former manager is now a fugitive after being convicted in one of the nation’s largest-every bribery cases.
Detroit Rumored Getting Delta Air Lines Exclusive Business Class Lounge
Delta Air Lines does not currently have upgraded lounges for international business class passengers the way that United and American do (though their Sky Clubs are nicer than United Clubs and Admirals Clubs). However that’s about to change.
In addition to plans for a Delta One business class lounge in Los Angeles and at New York JFK, which I’ve previously reported, there are plans for one in Detroit as well.
Westin Hotel Uses Shared Bath Amenities, With Zero Tamper Protection
Wall mounted bottles don’t get properly cleaned or refilled, and they’re a prime target for tampering by a practical joker or someone with more sinister motives.
A perfect example was a recent reader stay at the Westin Detroit Metro Airport.
