Pilot Attempts to Shut Down Engines Of Alaska Airlines Flight While In Mid-Air

Sunday evenings Alaska Airlines flight 2059, a Horizon Air flight from Seattle’s Paine Field to San Francisco, diverted to Portland. It appears that a pilot was jumpseating and “tried to shut the engines down and crash the airplane.”

According to Alaska Airlines, “no weapons were involved, and the crew was able to secure the cabin without incident.”

Airline Passenger Opens Emergency Exit Door 800 Feet From Landing, Sending Six To Hospital

A passenger managed to open the emergency exit door of Asiana flight 8124 on Friday as the 205-mile overwater domestic flight from Jeju to Daegu, South Korea was landing and the aircraft was about 820 feet above the ground.

There were 194 passengers on board the Airbus A321. Six were hospitalized on arrival. The man, in his 30s, reported tried to jump out of the aircraft.

Man Shoves Flight Attendant, Demands To See The Captain Over American Airlines Meal Choices

Retired British hedge fund executive Robert David Croizat mentioned in the Panama Papers scolded an American Airlines flight attendant, saying they “should have addressed him in a better way when giving him the choices for his meal” and demanded to see the captain because there were only vegetarian options on board flight 1192 from Bridgetown to Miami on on March 8.

After his aggressive behavior towards crew, including pinning one of the flight attendants against the cockpit door, the man was overpowered by another passenger and forced into his seat.

United Airlines Makes 6 Hour Flight To Nowhere After Passenger Refuses To Get Out Of Flight Attendant’s Seat

Sunday’s United Airlines flight 90 from Newark to Tel Aviv returned to the U.S. several hours into the flight – making a nearly six hour flight to nowhere – after a passenger decided to sit in crew jump seats while waiting for the lavatory. A flight attendant wound up in an argument with the passenger, and things escalated.

What Was It Like On Board The United Plane That Almost Plunged Into The Pacific?

News came out over the weekend about a United Airlines Boeing 777-200 that took off from Maui’s airport back on December 18 – and nearly dropping to the ocean. Despite flight 1722 to Maui climbing to 2,200 feet and then plunging to within 775 feet of impact, news of the incident had not been reported.

In addition to questions around what happened, whether it was wind shear in a significant storm or whether the pilots raised their flaps too far, and possibly became disoriented, there’s been mystery around why no one on the plane – out of more than 200 passengers – posted about the incident to social media.
