Two weeks ago I shared that National Car Rental was bringing back its One-Two-Free promotion which is one of the very best in the rental car space.
They’re offering a free rental day on every two paid midsize or larger rentals of 2 days or more through the end of January.
Plus, a series of activities can earn points towards a free rental. A free rental day requires 600 points, and you can earn:
- 25 points for downloading their mobile app
- 75 points for making a reservation with their mobile app
- 50 points for opting into emails
- 300 points for referring a friend that rents
- 50 points for opting in to ‘virtual credentials’
- 200 points for a week long rental
- 200 points for an ‘Enterprise local’ rental
- 25 points for a Drive Alliance site visit
- 25 points for Emerald Reserve service
- 50 points for connecting your National account to your Facebook profile
I rent from National frequently anyway, so will earn some free rental days through this promotion. And I’ll hopefully pick up one extra free day through these points, but I won’t likely do the biggest point earning activities of a week long rental or an Enterprise rental.
- You can join the 30,000+ people who see these deals and analysis every day — sign up to receive posts by email (just one e-mail per day) or subscribe to the RSS feed. It’s free. Don’t miss out!
Totally OT, but I wanted to mention that I really miss the Boarding Area links that used to appear on your sidebar. You’re generally my first FF hit of the day and I routinely check out Frequent Miler and OMAAT directly from your page.
I’ve asked this before but I’m still not clear. If I have my National account setup to earn airline miles instead of free rental credits, will this promotion still apply to me?
For instance, even though I’m not earning the regular rental points, will I still earn a free rental day after every 2 rentals, or does my airline mile setting completely exclude me from any free rentals, promotional or not?
@Andyandy – taking those away was not intentional strategy — there was a day last week where my blog was mostly down. The hosting company recommended removing a few sidebar items that they thought were hogging resources, and that’s one they pulled. I assume they’ll be back.
It would appear that not all of the above bonus opportunities are live for everyone. I do not have on my bonus page the opportunity for bonus points for a week-long rental, which is a shame, as I am picking one up at DFW in an hour or so. 🙁
