News and notes from around the interweb:
- Nevada casinos have to pay winnings earned while gamblers are trespassing
- The former Jet Airways frequent flyer program, JetPrivilege, continued after the airline went out of business under the name InterMiles. It’s part-owned by Etihad. And they’ve eliminated most opportunities for redemption. Already points were worth only 2/5ths of a cent apiece towards travel. Now they can’t be used for ‘free’ travel at all, only discounts on purchases.
- United Breaks Guitars, again.

- Las Vegas imposes $15 taxi trip surcharge for Formula 1 People hated Uber surge pricing, but it did a good job of ensuring vehicles were available prioritized for those willing to pay the most. Uber got rid of surge pricing where they tell you they’re doing it and just starting showing the price which is far more opaque but people seem not to mind so much. Taxis, though, were supposed to be good because there are no surcharges?
Given the road closures and construction on 15, I’m going to be surprised if anyone can get on or off the strip at all F1 weekend. I’ll be at home in Henderson, laughing.
