Through November 21, American Express Membership Rewards is offering a 50% bonus on points transferred to Virgin America.
Virgin America is one of the lowest value points transfers that American Express offers. A 50% bonus doesn’t materially change that. But, if you need to make a modest top off of a Virgin America account for a specific award, doing so while the 50% bonus is in effect makes good sense.
I believe this may be targeted Gary. Just logged on and saw no bonus available?
Odd, I see the bonus when I am not even logged in (US Membership Rewards program)
I don’t see it either. 🙁
Also- Can I transfer these points to Hilton 1:2?
dont see this either
Virgin America redemptions for Virgin Atlantic Upper Class are very good value under this deal – 46666-66666 MR for transatlantic return, giving many cents per MR point – as long as you don’t mind the rather steep fees ($1000-$1200 for transatlantic). Availability is typically excellent (check with Virgin Atlantic site), and the product is IMO equivalent to somewhere between business and first class with many other airlines.

It may indeed be targeted, but this should work if you’re eligible. Might be best to log in to the membershiprewards site first, though!
don’t see it either
If you transfer points to Virgin Atlantic, you get 1 for 1 with membership rewards. Virgin Atlantic points are good on Virgin America — so why transfer directly?
Because of the 50% bonus to Virgin America mentioned above.
Note that the normal 2:1 ratio is because Virgin American points are considered MORE valuable than Virgin Atlantic. Hence Virgin Atlantic redemptions requiring half the number of Virgin America points than Virgin Atlantic miles.
