News and notes from around the interweb:
- Qantas is moving from daily service between Dallas and Sydney (with a stop in Brisbane on the flight from the US to Australia) on a Boeing 747 to 6 times weekly service on an A380. That’s fewer flights by dropping Tuesday service, though more total seats. Here’s How to Redeem Miles for Qantas A380 First Class Between the US and Australia.
- VisaBuxx is a reloadable card meant for parents to control their kids’ spending. There have been options for loading these cards via mileage earning credit card, treated as a purchase, for quite some time. It’s a manufacted spend technique that has lasted for over a decade. The Free-quent Flyer shares where to get them, and current monthly limits. And remember not to use a Citibank-issued card, as those generally code such transactions as cash advances which won’t earn miles and will incur a fee.
- Spirit’s re-branding: they want you to know how much they suck in advance, so you aren’t surprised and complain about it when you fly.

- LAX has a lot of problems as an airport. But they can now check off one box on their to do list: They have a slogan.
- Up to 40,000 China Southern Sky Pearl points for roundtrip flights to New York and to Frankfurt.
- Aegean is offering bonus miles for flying Air Canada across the Pond. Which is sort of strange, I wonder what deal exists to encourage their members to pick Air Canada over another Star Alliance airline like Lufthansa or United.

@Laura Andrews – yes
Surprised you didn’t mention last nights Colbert Report. It had satan as a guest saying that he would have been there live, except the only seats available were UA Y. Sounds better in context.
Seems so much easier to get to Australia FC via a layover in Asia………….
