Last month I was giving away 25,000 American AAdvantage miles and a whole bunch of lounge passes.
Citibank offered them up to me to share with readers, highlighting their classy move to reach out to American Express Platinum cardholders. Platinum cards no longer offer American or US Airways lounge access, and Citibank is the sole issuer of cards that offer lounge access with the new American Airlines.
Citibank has the most generous credit card signup offer in the market with a 100,000 mile signup bonus for their Executive Card which bundles lounge access.
It turns out that they sent me a whole bunch of extra club passes, more than I needed to fulfill the last contest, so I’m giving the extras away here on the blog!
I am not being compensated by Citibank for highlighting their 100,000 mile bonus or giving away prizes. And as I shared in the original contest post, I am not keeping any of the prizes for myself — so I need your help to take the extra lounge passes off of my hands.
Here are the prizes:
- Three prizes of (4) American Admirals Club passes each
So here’s how you enter.
- I have several trip report sections on the blog. I have a page of airline reports, of hotel reports, of airline lounges, food, and activities and other quirky things.
- Visit the airline lounge review page
- Leave a comment on this blog post. Answer the question, “what is your favorite airline lounge, of those that have been reviewed on this blog?”
- Enter by Noon on Sunday June 1. That’s 2 days from this writing.
- Enter as many times as you like, but… You can list any and as many of your favorite lounges as you like, but each entry has to be a lounge I have reviewed on the blog. And if you enter more than once you must say why you like the lounge you’re entering with.
- Prize winners will be drawn at random. As in past, I will use random.org for the drawing.
- Fine print. Void where prohibited by law. All of my decisions are final and unappealable, I want to make giveaways as easy as possible and with the fewest headaches possible. Redemption of Admirals Club passes are subject to Admirals Club Terms of Service.
So, what is your favorite airline lounge that’s been reviewed on this blog?
- You can join the 40,000+ people who see these deals and analysis every day — sign up to receive posts by email (just one e-mail per day) or subscribe to the RSS feed. It’s free. You can also follow me on Twitter for the latest deals. Don’t miss out!

I heard many many great things about cathay pacific airline and lounges this is no exception http://viewfromthewing.com/2014/03/28/cathay-pacifics-wing-newly-renovated-first-class-lounge-vietnam-cambodia-macau-hong-kong-trip-report/
Rookie mistake:
I took my very first class trip on our honeymoon this year at korean air in IAD and in Korean and boy was it disappointing they sent us to a shared sparse lounge with old sandwiches, nuts, stale bread and butter and water. Wish we never flew korean 1st class was not luxurious like Singapore or Cathay
Lufthansa first class lounge. Who doesn’t like a rubber ducky
Centurion lounge at DFW hands down, great food, service, and amenities!
DFW Centurion is my favorite. Great design, great food great space.
Admirals Club CDG has an honorable mention after it was remodeled
AMEX Centurion lounge in DFW. The Vegas one didn’t have any food out until after 06:15… and they open at 05:00…
AmEX lounge at DFW for the food.
Amex Centurion Lounge, Dfw
FRA FC lounge
American Airlines Flagship Lounge, New York JFK because of the quality of snacks
Thai Airways First Class lounge was fantastic. The hour long massage, great meal, and the little semi-private side rooms were a fantastic way to relax before a 12am flight.
Lufthansa First Class Terminal!
LH FCT at FRA wins. Where else can you take a bubble bath between flights? Ausgezeichnet!
Lufthansa FC terminal. Porsche beats walking to the gate any day.
My favorite airline lounge, of those that have been reviewed on this blog is the Amex Centurion Lounge at DFW. I will actually be traveling through DFW and have access to both AA and Amex. You helped me choose.
It doesn’t get much better than the Thai Airways FC lounge.
Of course, LH FCT at Frankfurt! The rubber duckies and drive-to-the-plane are one-of-a-kind!
Amex Centurion Lounge,DFW : Dean Fearing’s food!
My favorite lounge you’ve reviewed is the Lufthansa First Class terminal.
First class lounge for Etihad in Abu Dhabi, love how the presentation skills are there with the food, restaurant, staff, etc.
AA Admirals Club at LAX. Gets me in the right frame of mind for the start of my trips.
The Lufthansa first class lounge, I would love to visit. Headed to Germany in the fall for a visit…….
I love the DFW Amex Centurion Lounge! Great food, spa treatments, great family room! The AA lounges are great too. And I like the ones with family rooms. And I like AA’s coffee options way better than those in either of the Centurion Lounges.
Thai First in BKK…massage!
The AMEX Centurion Lounge in Dallas… great place to relax, work and eat.
Also loved CP’s review of the Lahore lounge. “Standard of Clean Toilet” should be mandatory policy everywhere
Definitely the DFW Centurion, as a Dallasite.
I like the AA Admirals Club at ATL. It is easy to access even if I take other airlines’ flights.
DFW Terminal D
Thai First lounge at BKK, for the private rooms.
Count one more for the AmEx Centurion Lounge at DFW. Got a manicure last time and enjoyed a glass of wine. Never been more relaxed for a flight.
Thai First in BKK for the spa services for sure
Definitely the Lufthansa First Terminal. I mean it had a bar of 30 different types of bottled water. It doesn’t get much more over the top than that!
CX Wing First Class Lounge! The catering from The Peninsula is great, especially the deserts.
AA Admiral’s lounge at LAX. Awesome location and well spread out
Definitely the FRA FCT. It seems to be the best in the world.
The AC transborder lounge in YYZ, because that’s the only one on your list that I’ve been to.
United in Japan Tokyo with shower!
I loved Cathay Pacific’s “The Wing” lounge in Hong Kong. I was flying first class so I had an opportunity to take a shower in a cabana, and have a lovely meal at the sit-down restaurant. Beats the Red Carpet Club at DEN, that’s for sure!
AMEX Centurion Lounge at DFW. Hands down.
Bangkok Airways’ lounge (in Bangkok) was a lovely perk for an economy class flyer. I don’t mind waiting in the gate area, but this was much more comfortable and less crowded. I don’t think many of Bangkok Airways’ passengers knew about their lounge, but it’s open to all passengers.
Cathay The Wing for sure. Sheer luxury.
DFW D, not so much for the lounge, just that Dallas is the friendliest place to arrive back in the USA. And the lounge is nice too.
Cathay Pacific’s “The Pier” lounge was very comfortable during my recent trip to Asia. I read a press release where they described designing it to feel like a living room, and I think they did a great job in that regard. The furnishings were quite nice and comfortable. The only downside was that it was quite crowded at 8:30 AM.
And a vote for Chicago Terminal K FC, just because it is so close to the gates used for AA flights to LHR.
Lufthansa first class terminal at FRA…just amazing
American Airlines Lounge at JFK for sure

My favorite lounge is the Wing First class in Hong Kong. Good eats, nice cabanas.
US airways in CLT
Concorde Room, London Heathrow because that’s an oasis of tranquility in an otherwise crazy airport.
Centurion at DFW because it is so much better than other US lounges. It is also one of my aspirational, but feasible lounge dreams
British First Class JFK
The Cathay Pacific lounge in SF was my favorite for a while, probably because I had been used to Delta lounges for so long that I loved the Asian food they offered.
Concorde Club, LHR: fanciest lounge I’ve been to, but I don’t get to many F class lounges either.
I love the food at American Airlines Flagship Lounge in New York JFK.
DFW Centurion. Good food, great staff
anywhere that serves decent food and drink is a plus on my book.
AMEX Centurion Lounge at DFW. I’m there now in fact. I wish I could choose the Wing or the Thai First lounge in Bangkok, but sadly I’ve never been. Someday….
Asiana FC lounge ICN.
Loved the Cathay Pacific The Wing Lounge – nothing beats a noodle bar with great noodles in the lounge.
Amex Centurion lounge at DFW!!
I’d have to say Krisfkyer Silver Lounger in SIN. Plenary of food selections. And this is the lowest level of SQ’s lounges. Wonder what private room is gonna be.
DFW Centurion. Good food, great staff

Air France Lounge- Washington Dulles – nothing special, but the only lounge on your blog list I have visited.
Centurion lounge DFW, best in North America.

The lounge at Hong Kong of Cathay Pacific, The Wing First Class Lounge, looks amazing!
Luftansa Lounge at Dulles. Behind the same security gate as all the United gates, so you can get good lounge access on domestic United flights.
CX Wing – Noodle Bar, ’nuff said.
Lufthansa Senator Lounge at Washington Dulles.
Lufthansa FCT
Has to be Centurion at DFW.
AA Flagship Lounge at JFK.
HK’s Wing Business Class, as you can see and choose the food vs First Class menu-type ordering
JFK AS flagship lounge
Concorde Lounge at Heathrow. Excellent.
Amex Centurion Lounge at DFW. Excellent! More than happy to visit there vs Admirals Club.
I’ve never had the pleasure of visiting a VIP lounge, but the AA Flagship one you wrote about at JFK sounds good to me!
AA LHR Arrivals lounge, for that shower and bacon roll to get your day going.
AA JFK Flagship Lounge, it’s a nice place to chill away from the crowds, and since the attached AA AC can get busy as well. (Wish there were dedicated showers though)
CX’s The Wing F Lounge… one word: cabanas!
Lufthansa First Class lounge in Frankfurt. True first class all the way!
Has to be Lufthansa FCT @ FRA
AA ORD Flagship Lounge, though small in size, I like the close proximity to a lot of the international departures at the end of the K concourse.
I guess it’s the Centurion at DFW. It’s the only lounge I’ve been to that you’ve reviewed. I was there last week; it’s OK. I’ve lived on the opposite side of the US until recently, so that probably why.
Centurion at DFW
DFW Centurion Lounge.
This time I’m going for the US Airways lounge at New York LaGuardia — the worst lounge in North America according to your 2011 review. It has to have gotten better, right??

The Centurion Lounge at DFW is the best domestic lounge I’ve been to. Great food and cocktails plus free massages and manicures? Yes, please. I might even pay for it if I cancel my platinum card.
The Wing at HKG.

My favorite US Lounge is definitely the DFW Centurion Lounge! Love the food, drinks and spa.

AA’s arrivals lounge at LHR – powerful, amazing showers, feel fabulous after a long red eye, followed by a full English breakfast.
The Cabanas in BA’s Concorde Room – we booked one several months before our travel, and used it to store our hand luggage and to relax in peace before our flight. You can even order room service with the buzzer, so we sat and enjoyed some pre-flight Grand Siecle.
The Wing in HKG
My favorite lounge is the LH First Terminal, of course! 🙂
comment made…crossing fingers.
AMEX Centurian Lounge at DFW
they should roll the concept out everywhere and put the airlines out of the lounge biz
The DFW American Airlines Centurion lounge……. raises the bar.
Fabulous!
I like many of the lounges because of the calm they provide in the chaos of air travel. If I have to pick one I’ll go with the Aadmirals Club Lounge at DFW Terminal D.

DFW Centurion lounge – something to aspire to after graduation next year.

LH FCT. Because t’s a freakin terminal.
Lufthansa FCT – you really can’t top a rubber ducky!
BA lounge JFK

AMEX Centurion lounge in DFW, I’m hoping they open more in more places like ORD. Free massage.
the CIP lounge in IST. It’s better than some of the first class lounges in the world.
Of the ones I’ve visited, and you have reviewed, I would have to say The Wing at HKIA. We visited in 2012 before the recent renovations and it was simply awesome. The noodle bar was especially cool.

I have never had the opportunity to have access to any of the lounges so they all sound wonderful to me I am entering in hopes of winning and giving the pass to our son who is flying on AA at the end of June from JFK to Paris; good luck to all
Favorite is Thai airways in Bangkok. Massage!
Definitely the Centurion lounge at DFW.
Cathay Pacific The Wing First Class Lounge in Hong Kong for the win
Lufthansa first class terminal in FRA. Awesome for kids and I when we arrived and had to wait for connecting flights.

I’ve very rarely been to a lounge (so would appreciate this award!). I do appreciate lounges that have showers, for when you have to overnight it in an airport after a delayed flight causes missed connections, etc. A Delta lounge at JFK saved my wife and I in such circumstances three years ago.
american-airlines-jfk-flagship-loung
Lufthansa First Class lounge. Want to visit there some day.
Air Canada Transborder Lounge in Toronto…
none of those listed are my favorite due to the fact I have never visited any of them. The closest I’ve come is the standard AA lounge at ORD. For this reason alone, I feel I should qualify 🙂
Amex Lounge in DFW, Only one I have been to and that was last week with a friend.

Favorite lounge that I’ve personally been to: Centurion Lounge in DFW. Also had the pleasure of meeting you there, Gary! (On the way to FTU Seattle)
My (new) favorite lounge has to be the Amex Centurion Lounge at DFW–read about it on your blog and waited, and waited (felt like forever) until I was traveling through DFW on military leave in the middle of a year-long Afghanistan tour.
I was able to grab a shower and a quick bite prior to my connection—sure, other lounges have these same amenities, but the Amex staff were so pleasant….they made my day. First words from my wife, “You don’t smell like you’ve been traveling for 36 hours!” Makes a huge difference to hug the family after a “refresh” in DFW.

My favorite lounge experience that I share with your reviews is the Virgin Clubhouse at Washington Dulles. This was one of my first lounge experiences that released my inner travel kraken!! I felt like I was part of a secret club, where I got to eat hot prepared food, sampling everything on the menu. The ambiance was sophisticated, and I might have even pretended I was on a commercial 😀
AA lounge at JFK. Convenient and comfortable!
I haven’t been to many lounges and unfortunately non of the nice ones that you’ve reviewed. The one lounge that I have been to multiple times that I think is decent is the big US Airways Club in Charlotte between C and D. The club is very spacious and usually kept in good shape. The food and drinks are what they are for a USAir club but at least it’s a quiet place to relax and recharge between flights.
Haven’t been to many on your list but like Lufthansa’s First class Lounge in Frankfurt
The AA, BA, IB Premium Lounge @ MIA.

I have never been to Cathay Pacific Wing at HKG, love to see it.
Lufthansa in Frankfurt. A shame about the enormous United devaluation.
The Concorde Room in Heathrow is my favorite (and unfortunately the only one of your reviewed lounges I have experienced). The Cathay Pacific lounge in Beijing is great though – awesome dim sum!
Like any in the DC area, so the Etihad lounge in dulles was a recent one i liekd
I have to say Cathay Pacific The Wing Hong Kong is the best in my opinion. The service is wonderful and a great place to relax after the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. After all the crowded streets and restaurants a little down time to get ready for my flight.I find that this is the #1 ticket for me.

Also enjoyed the Cathay Pacific San Francisco lounge as it was very private and quiet while we were there. I perhaps made a cardinal sin by not visiting the noodle bar and instead eating from the pre-made items.. still good though :).
Best lounge: Concorde at LHR. Love the champagne bar.

I really enjoyed the Singapore Airlines’ lounges at Changi Airport. It’s just so serene, and the service/amenities provided are on-par with what you receive on the plane. Just a great whole package. 🙂
