Hilton is offering 2000 bonus points per night through April 30. As long as your room costs less than $200 per night you come out ahead compared to double points. You need to register in order to receive the bonus.
The 2000 points per night are in addition to:
- 10 Base points
- 5 Bonus points for ‘points and points’ earning
- Elite bonus: 5 points per dollar for Diamonds
- 12 Bonus points for credit card spend with the highest Hilton points-earning card
And on top of this, Hilton has added a bonus of 500 points per stay booked through their app which runs the entire rest of the year. Registration required.
The Hilton app is worth checking out anyway for the ability to choose your specific room. Hilton has also introduced beacon-enabled messaging.
I value Hilton points at $0.004 per point, which makes 2000 points worth $8 per night, and 500 points worth $2. That’s not a lot, but it’s a bonus on top of your regular earning and in percentage terms it can be a large rebate on the least expensive room rates. Given the fixed earn rather than varying based on spend they’re sort of “anti-revenue based promotions.”
Is there any way to access the MVP rate while booking through the app?
Using the Hilton app to book your reservation eliminates the ability to use the American Airlines shopping portal for extra and easy AAdvantage miles.
Is AMEX shucking and jiving me? I get 6 points per dollar spent at grocery stores. I get 2 miles per dollar spent on my Cap one. I was told that the 2 miles had more value than the 6 points.
