A ramp worker for dnata at London Gatwick got run over by an Airbus A319 today.
He was “briefly trapped by the wheel” of the Rossiya Airlines aircraft. Emergency crews responded.
Some passengers initially said the emergency services tried to ‘lift the plane’ after it had ‘ran over’ the person on take-off.

Rossiya operates a brand new Londong Gatwich – St. Petersburg flight for Aeroflot which began March 25.
The aircraft was damaged during the rescue attempt, so passengers were offloaded and given overnight accommodations.
All police, ambulance and fire brigades left. Few more airport service vehicles arrived. Cabin crew just confirmed our plane ran over the foot of ground grew member. Hope he’ll be ok. Maybe this is too obvious but why wouldn’t they roll off the dude’s foot? I’m sure getting your foot rolled over by an airplane probably hurts … but having it rolled onto and then KEPT THERE has to hurt worse – no?
I guess I’m confused as to why there was a “rescue attempt” in the first place…
Wouldn’t you just deflate the tire and then pry up the rubber around it. I would think that the other tires would hold the plane up.
