In Aftermath Of Meltdown, Southwest Reminds Us One Way They’re Least Consumer-Friendly Airline
Southwest Airlines likes to remind customers about their friendly features. They don’t sell basic economy tickets. All of their tickets have been fully changeable. Their flight credits don’t expire. They offer two free checked bags.
But in the aftermath of their historic operational meltdown over the holidays, we have a reminder of one of the ways that Southwest Airlines goes to war with any tools that help customers compare prices and get the best deals.
Woman Urinated On In Air India Business Class
In a great reminder that the worst behavior isn’t strictly reserved for flights in the United States (or on British holiday airline Jet2), a woman flying business class on Air India had one of the worst possible experiences imaginable on a trip. Out of the blue a man came up to her seat, unzipped his fly, and urinated on her.
Maybe Wait To Sue Southwest For Failing To Issue Refunds Until They Actually Fail To Issue Refunds?
I’m all for suing airlines. I suggested it as the best way to get a refund from Air Canada. I have argued for years that common law contract claims against the airlines need to be permitted. Flight Attendants Union Seeks To Undo Court Victory That Allows California To Regulate Cabin Crew Breaks
This summer the Supreme Court let stand a 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that said flight attendants based in California are subject to the state’s rest rules.
In Bernstein v. Virgin America the court found that California could require 30 minute meal breaks for flight attendants every 5 hours, and 10 minute rest breaks every four hours.
Report: Women Applying To Be Kuwait Airways Flight Attendants Required To Strip
Kuwait Airways is under fire after women applying to become flight attendants report being required to strip down to their underwear as part of the interview process.
The interviews, which occurred in Madrid, are under investigation by Spain’s Ministry of Labor, after a contractor conducting the interviews at the Meliá Barajas hotel was said to require these women to bare themselves in order to check for tattoos, scars, and other marks.
Warning For American Airlines Debtholders And Credit Card Partners
While there was much talk in 2021 about AAdvantage devaluations, they committed not to change their award chart as they rolled out Loyalty Points as a new way to earn elite status. Now the deferred chickens may come home to roost – risking the value of the AAdvantage program, the revenue streams for co-brand partners, and the quality of AAdvantage-backed debt.

Philippines Air Traffic Control Melts Down – A Day Before U.S. ATC Failure In South Florida
Air traffic control in Manila lost power on New Years’ and all flights were halted. Tens of thousands of passengers were stranded as flights were cancelled and diverted. Inbound aircraft couldn’t fly to Manila – for instance a Qantas flight from Sydney took a six hour flight to nowhere, turning around nearly halfway through its eight hour journey.
