Thailand will welcome vaccinated visitors to 9 regions without quarantine starting November 1. This includes Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phangnga, Krabi, Hua Hin, Pattaya, and Cha-am in addition to already-open Phuket and Samui.
Starting October 1 the length of quarantine for vaccinated visitors nationwide will drop from 14 to 7 days, before being eliminated completely November 1. And unvaccinated visitors will have their quarantine reduced from 14 to 10 days.
Businesses in the strictest control areas (“dark red,” including Bangkok) will begin to see re-opening on Friday including “spas, libraries, cinemas, indoor sports venues and nail salons.”

You are jumping the gun. Nothing is official until it’s published in the Royal Gazette! People are always jumping the gun just because there was a meeting where these things were discussed. While it may come to fruition, you can’t count on any of this until it’s official!! They change it depending on which way the breeze is blowing all the time.

That’s not true according to the Thai consulate that I verify with and told me that still have to quarantine even the article says “no quarantine”. 7 days of quarantine for fully vaccinated farangs. Things will change on a daily basis. Not trying to be pessimistic here but this has been going on for the last 19 months.
Yeah this is just talk until it’s approved by the Cabinet and published in the Royal Gazette.
There’s no country that’s changed the rules so many times, so confusingly, as Thailand. And this is just talk about maybe changing the rules.
What already confirmed is that effective Oct 1:
1. Fully vaccinated traveller with the last shot being administrated at least 14 days before arriving Thailand can have reduced quarantine period of 7 days.
2. Traveller who is not fully vaccinated arriving Thailand by air is subjected to reduced quarantine period of 10 days.
3. Traveller who is not fully vaccinated arriving Thailand by land or sea is still subjected to 14 days quarantine.
People fail to understand what being open means because the Thai government has not defined it. So far the Sandbox experiments meant that visitors had no nightlife to visit, no bars to patronise, no restaurants serving alcohol because while Phuket & Samui were “open” the Covid restrictions still apply. So while government apologists & PR hacks talk about the country being open at some future date they forget to mention that there will still be huge restrictions on visitors and that this administration has made u-tirns on almost every statement made. So anyone booking to visit Thailand risks coming to an open prison not a holiday destination.
I’d rather have a getaway to a morgue somewhere. Atmosphere can’t be much different. At least I won’t have to quarantine.
