Doctor of Credit flags the return of 5 Marriott nights worth up to 250,000 points in total after $5,000 spend within the first three months of account opening for the Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card.
That’s the best offer we’ve seen for this card, and it’s been around a couple of times. It’s much better than normal ‘elevated’ offers of 100,000 points or 3 reward nights.
And you can now ‘top off’ free night certificates with up to 15,000 points, making the certificates more flexible. The card’s annual fee is $95 (it applies the first year).
Generally both Chase’s 5/24 rules (no approvals for folks who have had 5 or more new cards in the past 24 months) or for those that already have Chase Marriott or American Express Marriott cards, or have had them in the past 30 days.
The card comes with silver status and 15 elite nights annually, plus offers 1 elite night credit for each $5,000 spent and Gold status after spending $35,000 on the card in a calendar year. I do like that you can earn annual elite nights from both business and consumer Marriott cards, and that these count towards lifetime status as well.
In my view this is the best current hotel card offer in the market. Note that I do not have a referral link for it myself, and information about this product was neither provided nor reviewed by its issuer.
Sorry Gary, but free nights on points at most Marriott properties (not in a rural area) are in the 70,000 to 90,000 points per night range. Try booking a free night in NYC with a 35,000 coupon – even when you add 15,000 points from your own accounts – impossible. What they charge now for free nights is ridiculous.
I agree with Don. I just tried finding a Marriott in Manhattan for June at 50k or less. Nada.
It’s true that Mattiott occasionally has sweet spots available. But compared to other hotel chains, they’re few and far between.
Shame, I so recently opened under the 3 night deal that my card hasn’t come yet, but I can’t get Chase to retroactively apply this one.
