Last month an Aerolineas Argentinas crewmember called in a bomb threat – because she was assigned to work alongside her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend.
On May 21, flight 1304 from Buenos Aires to Miami had 270 passengers on board when the 25-year flight attendant used her daughter’s cell phone and a voice distortion program to call the captain.
Tell the captain that we planted three bombs in Miami. Stop [expletive] with politics and check the plane because they are going to fly into a thousand pieces.
The woman and her long-term boyfriend, another flight attendant, had broken up. And he was already seeing another flight attendant. The three of them were scheduled to work the flight together and she couldn’t bear the thought.
Authorities searched the aircraft, but the flight operated after a nine hour delay. The bomb threat was investigated and the flight attendant was arrested. Someone had ratted her out. They seized her iPhone and undercovered her search history which included,
- “can you analyze an audio to find out whose voice it is”
- “how to investigate audio”
She’s been suspended and faces charges which carry up to six years in prison.
Where’s the source on her being scheduled to work the flight? I can’t find that part.
She did use her daughter’s phone to make the threat, though…feel real sorry for the daughter.
Since when did airlines start hiring middle school girls as flight attendants? This sounds like something I remember from 8th grade….
