As first reported by aviation watchdog JonNYC, Southwest Airlines flight 2494 at Dallas Love Field was struck by a bullet on Friday night as it prepared for takeoff after 9 p.m.
The Indianapolis-bound 737 was struck by gunfire on the right side of the aircraft near the flight deck. They returned to the gate and offloaded passengers. The aircraft was removed from service for inspection, and a replacement aircraft was arranged for passengers, allowing the flight to continue approximately two hours later. Runway 13R/31L at Dallas Love Field was briefly closed for the police investigation.

Southwest Airlines confirmed that law enforcement was immediately notified. No injuries were reported in the incident, which did not even happen over Haiti – where American, JetBlue, and Spirit Airlines planes were shot while in the air this week.
Amtrak seems a safer mode a transport from recent airline gunfire.
