  1. I guess taking the $100K and finally fixing the moving walkways would have been out of the question.

  2. On the $100K at MIA: Well, Gary, it’s small change, in the relative scheme of things, but that does seem like ‘waste, fraud, and abuse,’ no? But, I see ‘2024’ and ‘federal’ grant, so we must blame the ‘AutoPen,’ right? I’d imagine this was someone’s pet project, and likely rewarded an insider. I don’t care which ‘team’ you’re on, corruption, local, state, national, international, isn’t great, either way.

On AF at ORD: Glad to see more US-based AF lounges; they’re excellent. SFO and LAX are excellent. Looking forward to whatever AF pulls off at the new JFK T1, whenever if eventually opens.

On the FAA with Mar-a-Lago, while I understand it for when He is literally there, but, otherwise, isn’t that a bit much, and also, kinda an abuse of power to force this change… and Carter had to sell his peanut farm. *sigh*

  3. Miami Airport is run by banana republic leadership. Fraud, Waste, and Abuse rule the day at Aeropuerto Republica de Miami. I know it well.

  4. so use executive authority so your guests don’t have to hear those noisy airplanes,. it’s good to be king

  5. @Victor

So are you saying The King has shutdown Palm Beach International and surrounding airfields? It’s a TFR. Look it up while you learn about the form of government in the USA. Hint, we are not a monarchy.

  6. @Coffee Please — Ah, yes, here we go… now tell us we’re a ‘Constitutional Republic,’ and emphasize that we are not a literal direct democracy. (We know.)

On a lighter note, have you seen History of the World, Part I (1981) by Mel Brooks. I recommend re-watching the The French Revolution portion. Don’t be a Jacques.

  7. “IVNKA ONE” is likely an arrival or departure procedure out of KPBI, not a navigation fix (as they always have 5 characters). My great flight instructor has one named after him near KPIE – KSPG (JACKT)

$100,000 is absolutely nothing in government airport parlance and lawyers will end up billing 3 times that amount arguing over it. It wouldn’t cover the employees and supplies to oil the squeaky moving walkways once.

Call it advertising for the airport and move on. The USPS pays millions to sponsor a bicycle rider. What is the difference? Print a sign, FLY MIAMI-DADE for all your Rodeo needs. Done!
