News and notes from around the interweb:
- Eric Adams flies American Airlines. He should’ve stuck to Turkish. NSFW.
Former New York City mayor Eric Adams snapped as he was harassed on a Dallas jet bridge on Tuesday, telling a heckler, “Go f*ck yourself” in a video that has since gone viral.
The confrontation, filmed by another passenger and originally posted on Reddit, shows Adams trading barbs with a masked flyer as they disembark a flight from New York to Texas.
“I’m not mayor anymore. Go fuck yourself,” former Mayor Eric Adams says to another passenger, according to a video circulating on Reddit.

- Delta ordered 30 Boeing 787-10 widebody aircraft with options for 30 more, with deliveries beginning in 2031. They say these will be targeted at high-demand transatlantic and South America flying, plus widebody fleet replacement for older, less fuel-efficient aircraft.
I didn’t give it separate billing because it’s not new news. Regular readers knew that Delta would be ordering the 787-10 because I wrote that this would be the plan back in July. Another win for a JonNYC leak. Delta’s previous Airbus A350 order similarly leaked early.
- HSBC does love airport jetbridge branding, though.

Hecklers suck.
I expect nothing less from Eric Adams or any politician any more. He tells people to f-off, Trump gave an employee on the production floor at a Ford plant the finger yesterday. Politicians call people “stupid,” “morons,” “retarded” (their word, not mine). And people celebrate this behavior…think it’s good and helpful.
There was a time when we expected politicians to represent the best of America, to conduct themselves with dignity and moral character. To rise above. No more. Now, we applaud them for acting like three years-olds. We celebrate when, rather than rising above the bad behavior of others, they roll around in the dirt.
And we act surprised when child behave like this and when we have what we have in the workforce. It’s all connected to a culture evolution in America that looks very much like what other great civilizations have look like…right before they fell.
“Adams trading barbs with a masked flyer” tells you all you need to know.
I’m no expert, and can only judge from the snippet of video, but it actually might have been an appropriate response to a heckler saying “Please punch me in the face. I would love if you punched me in the face.” And the cursing retort was actually said in an exasperated “super meh” way (great new term BTW) – not all that much of an animated tone to the ex-Hizzoner.
Let that poor man get on his way to Easter Island via Istanbul… c’mon folks!
Delta has been trying to take delivery of 787s for 15 years – the original NW order that DL inherited, the new generation order which ultimately went to the A359/339 combo and now this order.
the DL 787 order is the culmination of 3 attempts by Boeing to sell the 787 to DL; this time they succeeded with the help of GE which gave DL overhaul rights for the GEnx engines.
Jon didn’t break anything about even the latest 787 order- all of it has been discussed on other sites for years. Anyone only gets credit for providing information that is truly not available from any other sources. Rarely does Jon do that other than providing internal documents – which he has been much less able or willing to do of late.
In all of recorded history, has anyone ever made a technology decision because they saw a random tech-company ad in an airport? Or these days, on a Super Bowl commercial?
@Tim Dunn — Yeah, what’s up with Jon F, and why is he so fascinated by The Simpson’s ‘Beat Up Martin’, I mean, ‘Eat Up Martha’ bit? How come Jon hides on X instead of going-to-town here and the other various blogs? Just asking questions…
@Denver Refugee seems kind of obvious to be that businesses invest in brand awareness activities that they have determined yield an ROI, be it increased sales or just overall awareness. Does HSBCs logo on a jet bridge drive banking decisions? The research says, yes. Kind of like how watching political commentary masked as news influences the voting decisions of many people.
@Denver Refugee — Amex has their logo on a lot of jet bridges at JFK T4 (at least). I like Amex, so, I donno, it kinda makes me wanna give them more money whenever I see it… LOL.
Eric Adams is no longer mayor. He’s a private citizen. While his response was a bit juvenile why is someone complaining to him like he’s still the mayor? Moreover, when the few times I see a politician out in public in an unofficial capacity I leave them alone, like I would want to be. Back in the old USAir LGA/DCA shuttle days when it was all coach seating I saw numerous politicians onboard. I would have never thought to approach any of them.
But that’s our narcissistic society today.
2,000 Hilton points per stay, let’s go!!! Rofl
Oh look another Karen on her way to MSP to disrupt ICE. She will fit right in with the rest of the umemployed, underemployed, professional protesters. You know the ones that did the George Floyd, BLM. Hamas, Tesla, and now ICE. What’s next from the cat ranchers?
Clearly that white woman was harassing Mr. Adams prior to the video camera rolling. What obnoxious behavior.
Got about 12 more minutes until BILT announces 2.0 details… I’d assume if their website crashes at 12PM EST, that’s a good sign for them, as it would show ‘significant’ interest. If it doesn’t, well, that’s good, because, we’ll actually be able to see the official details, but, you know, just us card-geeks.
@Coffee Please, @Common Sense — Fellas, tell us how you really feel. Like, don’t hold back. Go hard-R. @Coolio, you too. Where’s vocal-supremacist @Not Scott to top things off? Oof.
Cameras on cellphones were a mistake. The cultural leaded gasoline, freon and asbestos of our era.
@Denver Refugee Yes, cellphone camera were a huge mistake…for folks like you. Cellphone camera have help people prove over and over again what they have been saying all along. There is subset of people who abuse their power, inflict psychical or emotional violence on people and them lie their asses off to get away with it. Society has always deferred to the person in the position of authority. Cellphone video has proven their side of the story is not always right.
So, given you seem to value the powerful abusing the masses, I’m sure you do see cellphone camera as a problem. They may be the “cultural leaded gasoline, freon and asbestos of our era,” but that’s just because the rest of us are sick of the LIES AND GASLIGHTING coming out of the mouths of people like you.
I imagine that must be quite frustrating for someone like you.
Gone are the days of politicians the likes of Senator Sam Nunn (D-GA), Tip O’Neill (D-MA) or Gerald Ford (R-MI), George H.W. Bush (R-TX), John F. Kennedy (D-MA), Harry S. Truman (D-MO), Dwight Eisenhower (R-KS), et. al. who could “agree to disagree” and be polite to each other and their colleagues. Now…Marjorie T. Greene (R-GA and thankfully GONE), Nancy Pelosi (D-CA who needs to go), George Santos (R-NY..gone), Al Green (D-TX…needs to go) and many others who have ruined the decorum that should be in the houses of Congress. Flipping off people, using really foul language (Mayor of Minneapolis D-MN), inciting riots (Maxine Waters D-CA) and many more from BOTH PARTIES does nothing but to alienate the very people they need. I have to admit, Senator John Kennedy summed up the proposed acquisition/invasion of Greenland as “Weapons grade stupid!”. I agree 100%!
Good for Eric Adams.
There’s something inspiring about hitting retirement (voluntary or otherwise) and not having to have a filter anymore.
The lady was clearly going out of her way to antagonize a man who was simply trying to travel in relative peace.
