I enjoyed this 1964 look at London’s Heathrow airport this Sunday morning.
I liked this line: “Heathrow is known the world over as the pilot’s ideal of what an airport should be.”
Although the video recognizes capacity problems at Heathrow (“in a few years’ time.. it won’t be able to cope with the air traffic flying in and out of London”), which despite constant construction projects and interminable delays haven’t been solved some 50 years later.

That certainly brought back memories. Interesting that the heralded Queen’s Building has now been replaced, the new Terminal 1 is about to be demolished and only T3 will remain.
But how civilised it all was – the room for mothers to rest before their flight was particularly charming!
Crowded roadways, shuttle buses, ongoing construction–nothing seems to have changed over the past half century!
Very entertaining vide. Great sound and video.
