Free VIP Pass for Upside

Priceline founder Jay Walker is launching a new travel booking site in September. The focus is business travel for small and mid-size companies, and the goal is to save the company money while offering gift cards to employees.

Signup is quick and free. And people who sign up before the site launches have two big advantages.

  1. Sign up now and they’ll guarantee you a minimum payout of $150 in gift cards per trip you book through end of year.

  2. They’re launching their referral program soon, long before launch, so sign up now and you’ll be able to earn gift cards for referring people to the site — $50 for each person you refer who books a trip.

But to lock these in you need to sign up. It’s free and takes just a moment, and there’s no reason not to.

  1. I sure hope there site works better than their sign-up page. I’ve tried three different browsers, and all freeze when you click the “Get Upside VIP Status” button. (The button text changed to “loading”, and stays there forever.)

  2. I did use your link. Any insights as to the following:

Is this only for domestic USA travel?

Is there any flexibility to hotels? I often fly into one location (LAX) but travel via other means all over the LAX metro (insanity). More specifically, if I fly into LAX for 7 days/6 nights, will Upside allow me to only book 1 night hotel or any number less than the total time reflected by the dates of air travel?

Will it allow purchase of first class fares or only cattle car?

Probably more questions but we’ll just have to wait for the launch, right?

  3. @GringoLoco – not just for US flights but travel must originate in the US. I don’t THINK you can limit the number of nights to be different than the length of the trip (roundtrips only at this point I believe). You can purchase first class.

  4. Gary do you get a cut on signups for this? Not totally clear from the post. Thanks.

  5. @Jim I put the disclaimer at the top for a reason, this is my own referral link but I will get a smaller spiff than a regular member referring their friends

  6. What kind of gift cards are offered. Are they straight up gift cards or ” buy $200 and you get $50 off” type of catds

  7. Got signed up with no issues. Look forward to seeing what they actually offer. Thanks.

  8. Will hotel nights booked through this service count towards elite qualification?
