Singapore Airlines flies to two destinations from Los Angeles — Seoul and Tokyo Narita (with continuing service to Singapore). Both flights are operated with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, not with Airbus A380s, so first class is still a bed with great food and service but isn’t their suites class product.

You can only book long haul premium cabin award space using Singapore’s own Krisflyer miles. Fortunately you can transfer Chase, Citibank, American Express and Starwood points to Singapore Airlines.
Singapore’s Los Angeles – Seoul flight is wide open with saver award availability for two passengers in first class.

Singapore charges 95,000 miles per person each way for Los Angeles – Seoul first class.

From Seoul of course you can book Singapore space onward, Asiana space to other destinations (using Singapore’s Star Alliance award chart), or book another award ticket entirely if South Korea isn’t your goal.
Here’s Los Angeles – Singapore (via Seoul or Tokyo) for the same 2 passengers in April:
If you can get all the way to Singapore chances are you’ll be able to pair it with business class flights (by phone) to destinations beyond like Bali.
The best availability seems to be in February, April, May, August and September although you’ll find space November of this year and a smattering of other months as well.
Transfers aren’t instant, they generally take 12-48 hours. There’s no Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer official policy I’m aware of that allows awards to be put on hold, though I’ve done 3 day holds several times.
Singapore no longer adds fuel surcharges for Krisflyer redemptions on Singapore Airlines flights.
There are no fees for telephone booking. There are no fees for close-in award redemption. There are no fees for changing the time or date of travel on a Singapore Airlines award. Award cancel and redeposits cost $30.
Get there before Kim does!
I try to add Vietnam in bussines over the phone but they want me to pay another award I have try 2 times and they keep saying the same any Recomendation on how to do it for the same miles
Thank you
@Frank – Hang up and call again. Some times their agents keep saying that. Some times they have tax repricing issues too!
I love this site I look forward to every class of service critiques thank you
@Frank not sure what you are trying to do, but if you are trying to fly on SQ and then connect to vietnam via a partner flight then you will need to pay the price of the partner award chart and any associated fuel costs etc. I had this issue earlier this year. You only get the SQ mile cost when flying all SQ metal.
which website do you use to search availability? I like that calendar style

Nearly 400K for two to fly Singapore F LAX-ICN is not that exciting for me. Recently I saw a fare for $2300 each in business class, and while not F is still pretty comfortable. Personally I will pass on this one.
