Bilt Rewards: Earn 6x On Dining, 4x On Travel Once Each Month

The Bilt Mastercard, the no annual fee card that lets you earn points paying rent at no cost (up to $100,000 per year) and earns double points on travel and triple points on dining, now earns even more one day a month.

Dubbed “Bilt Rent Day,” on the first of every month Bilt is offering:

  • Double points on all non-rent spend, up to 10,000 extra points
  • And that double points isn’t just ‘an extra point’ they even double the accelerator categories, so it’s 6x on dining, 4x on travel, and 2x on all other purchases except rent
  • They also have a number of ‘rent day’ offers which don’t require having their credit card, either.

Note that you still need 5 transactions a month to earn points, and it can take up to a week for the bonus points to post, and also that this offer does not add additional points on top of the current 3x promo for gas.

What To Do With Your Points

Each Bilt point can be spent at 1.25 cents apiece towards travel through their portal or transferred 1:1 into:

  • Star Alliance: Air Canada Aeroplan, Turkish Miles & Smiles, United Airlines MileagePlus
  • oneworld: American AAdvantage, Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, British Airways Executive Club, Iberia Plus
  • SkyTeam: Air France KLM Flying Blue
  • Non-alliance: Emirates Skywards, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, Hawaiian Airlines HawaiianMiles, Aer Lingus Aer Club
  • Hotels: Hyatt, IHG Rewards

With these great options – they have American and United as well as Hyatt as well as unique high value partners like Turkish – please don’t redeem your Bilt points with Amazon.

Other Rent Day Offers

Bilt has several offers that do not require being one of their co-brand cardmembers.

50 SoulCycle locations nationwide will offer one “Rent Day, Ride Together” class on the first of every month, giving members a complimentary bike for a friend when booking a class and providing riders with Bilt and SoulCycle branded swag and giveaways. This can be reserved within Bilt’s or SoulCycle’s app or SoulCycle’s website. SoulCycle clearly wants access to Bilt’s members.

They’re also giving away points and rent. On October 1 there will be a Rent Day Challenge to solve at BiltRewards.com/RentDay. You’ll also need to follow Bilt on Instagram to be entered to win free rent.

And they’re giving away Bilt Points in a virtual trivia game inside their mobile app on October 1. Members can answer questions to earn an instant 350 points.

A Month-Long Rent Day Offer From Virgin Cruises

Virgin Voyages is offering Bilt members 50% off the second passenger for cruises booked by October 31 for travel complete by December 31, 2022 (no co-brand credit card required). Redeem by linking your Bilt Account to your Virgin Red account to receive a code via email for the discount (also earn 500 points for this account linking instead of the usual 100 points).

The applies up to Sea Terrace Cabins, and there are four blackout dates (Valiant Lady: 12/30/22 Scarlet Lady: 12/4/22, 12/14/22, 12/27/22).

How I’ll Play This

I’ll certainly dive into their trivia questions because free points are free points. And I’ll link my Virgin account, too, because free points.

I’ll also try to frontload a bit of spend on the first of the month. This will be my card of choice, especially in accelerator categories, on that day. However it’ll also get unbonused spend, because I’d value 2 Bilt points over my other options for spend that isn’t in an accelerator category for any of my other cards.

In a way I view what Bilt is doing with extra points once a month as reviving something that Chase used to offer for Sapphire cardmembers, the old “First Friday” where you’d earn an extra point per dollar spent on dining and everyone rushed to buy gift cards to cover their eating out needs. That’s been gone for more than 7 years, but the Bilt Mastercard is renewing it and doubling down as it were – not just an extra point but double the accelerator category points even one time a month. I love the aggressiveness.

  1. How I’ll play this : at the least, wait for a sign up bonus wasting a 5/24 spot (or even hard pull) on this card. The ability to earn points for rent, earning UA/AA miles or the elevated category spend does not come close to other cards in the market. Without a competitive sign up bonus, there are too many other cards around that render Bilt as opportunity loss.

  2. If this is truly an ongoing thing and not just a temporary promotion, it induces an interesting dynamic to card usage.

  3. Where are you seeing the 500 points for linking a Virginia account? I’m not seeing it anywhere in the app or mentioned in their post.

  4. @Sco The 500 bonus points from linking your Bilt account with your Virgin points account is in the promotion terms:
“Bilt Rewards members will receive 500 Bilt Points when they link their Bilt Rewards account to
their Virgin Points account for the first time between 9/26/2022 and 10/31/2022.”

  5. Haha of course it’s the first of the month. October and November I have 14+ hour flights scheduled that day…
