News and notes from around the interweb:
- Doctor of Credit says the Priceline Visa is adding a 10% points rebate for travel redemptions so those who still have the old 2 points per dollar Priceline Visa will see that card become a 2.2% rebate card when using points for travel. Of course that merely makes it the equivalent of Barclaycard Arrival+ which anyone can still get and comes with a 40,000 point signup bonus offer.
- I can’t decide, read the hilarious suggestions in the comments of this post and then reply here to tell me which reader should win?
- American Airlines wants to win Los Angeles. Kristen Bell likes them (but does she like Delta co-brand issuer Amex even more?). But PT Anderson doesn’t like them (and he’s more important to frequent flyers). They have their work cut out for them!
- Target has a new rewards program, REDperks.
- British Airways will sell you miles with a 50% bonus, as cheap at 1.68 cents apiece, just before the big devaluation. Cheeky.
Kristen Bell regularly holding court in the LAX Admirals’ Club would definitely increase my discretionary spending to and from LAX. Double if Craig Ferguson joined her. (Or if she had a sloth…)
I vote for Klark. Most of the entries were hilarious, but Klark turned it up to 11.
Was the 0.0168 in your title a click bait? I bit.
My vote is Thanh or DE
Klark’s was tl;dr 🙂
I sent that Priceline item to DoC because I was too lazy to post. Important to note that extra 10% is only for Priceline purchases and “other travel” which is not yet specified, any points redemption with the card must be for a purchase $25 or higher, and no partial redemptions allowed, so could be fairly hard to get that extra value unless the travel category is generous.
Klark for most effort. But honestly, there just is NOTHING funny about SkyPesos and Delta. NOTHING. I thought your regulation post was a bit over blown, but then I think about Delta and think “well, maybe not.” All it takes is for Dougie to think DL has some great ideas and then the whole USA miles game goes into the shitter.
3 things
1. Lose weight
2. Buy another shirt
3. Stop posting pictures of yourself. No one cares to see them.
I liked Elizabeth’s post, simple and effective (last one)
@Why thanks so much for the fashion advice, though you seem not to realize that this is my personal blog. You may choose to read if you wish, though it seems an odd choice for you too considering your misgivings. Best, Gary
A vote for R. — the only one that made me actually laugh out loud.
$150 for RT AA/US econ tickets inside of 600 miles isn’t bad. Might be worth jumping on the BA thing if you hop around the East Coast, etc. a good bit.
Klark! It was typical small print gobbledygook!
Gary, post a picture of yourself in every blog post you do good sir!
